WELCOME, SPRING!! Seeing the daffodils emerge is delightful. I looked at them awhile…really looked. We placed a pile of twigs from the yard on top of the then hidden daffodil bulbs last fall. Winter kept them buried darkness and snow in addition to the twigs. Unnoticed, they adapted in a most resilient manner to eventually reach sunlight. They didn’t give up even though that would have been the easier path. They quietly kept growing, rearranging, striving, and accepting the change in conditions. They will bloom soon.

LIFE. The only constant is change. 💜

I went to get feed at Knisely's Pet and Farm Center this afternoon. What a great surprise donation awaited me at the store from Cumberland County 4-H! Kitty litter, fly spray, vet wrap, and hoof picks…all necessary items. Thank you, 4-H!!! 💙🐴💜

Who wouldn't want a miniature horse?☺️

🐴The popular attraction in Gettysburg, known for its miniature horses, has closed as the owners retire. An auction is scheduled for February 28 to find new homes for 30 miniature horses and other farm animals. The auction has attracted national interest, with several bids already placed.

The way to our heart is truly through our stomach...so...you wanna buy us dinner? Yep, that's the best way to show us your LOVE! We're not asking for a fancy dinner, flowers, or candy. We prefer feed and hay; simply the necessities of life.

Our dear Ashley and Lily fighting to drain the 100’ water hose this morning. It’s so cold the hose freezes between filling troughs! Several of our “frost free hydrants” have also frozen. Thankfully, we have not had an interruption of power; all the trough heaters are working to keep the water in the troughs from freezing.

GREAT NEWS!!! We have met our $1000 donation challenge!! Very last minute on 12/31--still successful!

Thank you for EVERY dollar! The kids need hay, feed, meds, and farrier care this month. To say that 2025 was stressful due to decreased donations is an understatement. We also had increased veterinary expenses due to illness/aging, including humane euthanasia of several residents at the sanctuary.

It takes a village, and we are beyond grateful you are a part of ours. Thank you. 💜

$1000 MATCHING DONATION CHALLENGE!!

Beginning NOW till the end of 2025, an anonymous donor has offered Rock Run a donation challenge. EVERY dollar you donate will be doubled up to $1000 between now and midnight New Year's Eve! Seriously.

We so appreciate this offer. Rock Run is a nonprofit corporation and your donation is very likely tax deductable (depending on how you file your taxes).

2025 has been the most difficult year for donations and fundraising efforts since we began in 2012. Please help us continue our mission. The animals here are worthy of every $5 donation. They NEED fed, veterinary care, medicine, and love. Please...they matter.

UPDATE: We found some hay in Carlisle! It is to be delivered later this morning. THANK YOU for all your help!!

Help!! Rock Run Animal Rescue is in need of small square bales of quality horse hay (SOON). We are an equine sanctuary in Newville caring for horses with special dietary needs. Specifically, the horses require the following:
hay with NO foxtail or mold
second cutting orchard grass for several seniors with poor chewing ability
first cutting hay is ok for some of the horses
we are able to arrange volunteer help with pick up, but delivery is preferred to Bloserville

We had plans to purchase a large amount of hay that unfortunately fell through. We have about 2 days of hay left in the barn. Please message me if you have hay for sale or can recommend someone. Thank you!! 💜🐴💙

As you know, Daisy was the last dog at Rock Run and she has passed away. We tried everything imaginable to get her to eat, but her sweet body was not able to continue. We miss her terribly every day!

Daisy was provided quality food by those who support Rock Run...thank you!

The following items are for sale (recouping some of the cost of the dog food will help us feed the other animals):

Kirkland canned food--21 cans left in case--$28.99 for 24 cans at Costco

Purina One True Instinct #15 pound bag barely used--$32.28 at Walmart

Pedigree High Protein 13.2 oz cans ~$4 at Walmart

When purchased by Rock Run, the total was $65.27; we are selling for $30 for all. If you are interested in the food, we can meet at the farm; please call Jodi at 717-636-1452.

Please know we would LOVE to give the food to a family/pup in need; however, it's been a very difficult year financially & we need feed for the other animals at Rock Run. Thank you for your understanding!
