Mennonite Women USA Our vision: Engaging the prophetic voices of all women as we honor our stories, share grace, practice justice and embrace healing.

Mennonite Women USA is the women’s organization of Mennonite Church USA. Our history began in 1916-1917 with Women’s Missionary and Service Commission and Women in Mission. These two organizations merged into Mennonite Women in 1997 and became Mennonite Women USA in 2003.

Let us counter the big heavy happenings with community. We’ll meet after the midterms. Put “us” on the calendar for lunchtime (or brunch time!) on the third Wednesday in November to talk about moving through this messy and miraculous world with spiritual practices that sturdy our stances next to one another.

Join us for Coffee and Conversation on November 18 at 1 pm Eastern / noon Central / 11 am Mountain / 10 am Pacific. Learn more and RSVP for the Zoom link here:

Our latest Coffee and Conversation was with author Amanda K. Gross, drawing on her book 'White Women, Get Ready.'

Amanda named the “4 Ds” that keep women complicit with racism: denial, defensiveness, distancing, and deference. These aren’t character flaws but inherited trauma responses. She shared her own honest story of freezing in the face of a racist joke, and women in the group shared theirs, along with concrete ways we heal and show up for each other.

Amanda's invitation: hold “the both and” of how we’ve been harmed and how we’ve been complicit. It’s a way past guilt and paralysis, and toward real solidarity.

"To my sisters in ministry, I would say: do not underestimate the value of your voice and your calling. The road may be difficult, and there will be forces that try to silence or discourage you, but God’s Spirit is faithful to empower and guide. Surround yourself with communities of trust, keep learning, and keep investing in others. Your faithfulness, even in small acts, can inspire transformation beyond what you can see."

Elisabeth Kunjam is studying for a Master of Arts in Theology and Global Anabaptism at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) with an MW USA International Women's Fund Scholarship. Her calling is to make Anabaptist theology accessible to the Hindi-speaking church. Her gift to others is accessibility, and your gift makes her education accessible to her.

IWF applications are now being accepted from women recommended by partner agencies at AMBS, Eastern Mennonite University, Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission, and Mennonite Mission Network. Elisabeth writes that her sisters in ministry should never underestimate the value of their voice and calling. Will you help give more women that same freedom to be heard? Donate today so we can support as many applicants as possible, and increase the amount we're able to give toward their educational costs.

Women's Voices is Mennonite Women's community journal. In the latest entry, Angie describes Jan Richardson's new book as a collection of blessings in three sections, with hope on every page.

We are invited to open wide to receive and then give, shown how grief can be allowed its time before it lights the way, and encouraged to share the grace we've been shown.

Like bowing before a meal, this delightful review is a little blessing itself, for a book that reveals how light comes from the broken places.

A recent Stir pick takes us into the pages of ‘Finding Home’, Jewel Showalter's memoir of a childhood split between an Ethiopian mission field and Mennonite farm country in Virginia and Pennsylvania, followed by an adulthood that carried her to Turkey, Kenya, and China.

In her review for our Women's Voices blog, Cheryl Hollinger traces how Jewel grew up a classic "third culture kid," adaptable to nearly anywhere yet never quite settled anywhere, including within Mennonite life itself.

What makes the memoir resonate, Cheryl writes, is Jewel's honesty about loneliness, failure, and feeling like a misfit paired with a steady thread back to Psalm 90:1 and the conviction that God, not geography, is home.

If your women's group includes anyone who has moved often, immersed in a new culture, or simply felt like they didn't quite fit, Finding Home could spark a rich conversation about belonging and faith.

Read Cheryl's full review here: "Neither Here nor There, and Fully at Home," and let us know if you pick up the book with your circle. We'd love to hear how the conversation unfolds.

Are you willing to offer your part, even if it seems too small to matter?

Today's Women's Voices blog reflection is a call to rally our moral voice. Pat shares how she felt overwhelmed naming what is happening until a multifaith clergy cohort changed that. Faith communities have long driven justice movements and are being asked to meet this moment.

What if your part is all that’s needed? Put together, what if we are more than enough?

Your gift today makes a way for the ministry leaders of tomorrow.
