Some bittersweet news from our United Way family. 💙
After six years leading UWHMC, our Executive Director Dalton Black will step down on November 20 to become State Director of United Ways of Kansas, the statewide association of 21 local Kansas United Ways.
When Dalton started, UWHMC was a one-person office. Today we're a team of six serving two counties. Along the way, he helped launch the Housing Alliance of Harvey & Marion Counties and the Harvey County Childcare Task Force, and built our award-winning Resource Navigation program, which has connected 196 neighbors to more than 300 referrals for housing, food, childcare and health care in its first year.
"Dalton has grown this organization from a single employee to a team of six and expanded our reach into Marion County. We're grateful for his leadership and proud to see him take on United Way's work for the entire State of Kansas." – Marcia Friesen, Board Chair
The good news? He isn't going far. In his new role, Dalton will keep supporting our work alongside United Ways across the state.
Our programs, grants and coalition work continue with the same team you know, and the board will begin the search for our next executive director soon.
Please join us in thanking Dalton and wishing him well. Drop a note for him in the comments! 👇
