At New Hope Shelter, we are called to serve because we recognize the urgent need for shelter, stability, and transformation in the lives of the homeless in Harvey, Butler, Marion, and McPherson Counties. New Hope is funded through private contributions from churches, businesses, and individuals. We are also supported by over 600 volunteers in the local area that help to cover the daily shifts, pro

vide the evening meals, and work with staff in various ways to provide for the operation of New Hope Shelter. It is through the love of Christ that we exist and it is through the love of Christ we share with those in need of hope.

New Hope Shelter is seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional individuals to join our team. We are hiring for multiple part-time positions to help support daily shelter operations and provide a safe, welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

These positions are ideal for individuals who are flexible, reliable, and committed to serving others in a respectful and supportive setting.

Weekend Staff - Saturday and Sunday - Third Shift - 10pm to 6am
Key Responsibilities

Every other Saturday - 6am to 2pm

On-call and floating positions available

Answer incoming phone calls and respond in a professional and courteous manner
Assist residents with questions, needs, and general support
Help maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized environment through light cleaning duties
Manage facility entry access by opening doors and assisting individuals entering the shelter
Support front desk and shelter operations throughout the shift
Contribute to a safe, respectful, and positive atmosphere for residents, guests, and staff

High School diploma or equivalent required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm, professional, and respectful in a fast-paced environment
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Comfortable interacting with diverse populations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible availability is strongly preferred.

We are looking for team members who are compassionate, attentive, and ready to step in where needed. Dedicated staff play an important role in keeping operations running smoothly while providing excellent support to residents and visitors.

Now Hiring at New Hope Shelter!

New Hope Shelter is looking for part-time Floater Staff to join our team.

We are hiring for the following shift: There is a floating shift, as needed. Volunteers are also welcome. Also we need a shift for every other Saturday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Duties include:
Answering phones
Assisting residents
Light cleaning
Managing entry access and opening doors for individuals entering the facility
Helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Reliable, professional, and compassionate
Strong communication skills

Good afternoon, New Hope family and friends. 💙

We are praising God for a beautiful step forward in the life of one of our residents — she has been blessed with a new job! This opportunity is more than employment; it is another step toward healing, stability, and renewed hope.

Today, we’re asking our community to be the hands and feet of Jesus in two very practical ways.

We are in need of transportation assistance for this resident on 04/25/2026. She needs a ride from New Hope Shelter at 2:30 PM and a return ride from her job in Newton at 5:15 PM. To protect her privacy, we are not able to share the exact address publicly.

She is also in need of 4XL scrubs — 2 to 3 tops and bottoms. If you have scrubs to give, your donation could be a direct blessing as she begins this new chapter.
