Your financial goals 🤝 treating yourself

Good news: you don’t have to choose one over the other. 👏

A good financial plan isn’t about cutting out everything you enjoy. It’s about knowing what you can spend, what you want to save, and intentionally making room for both.

Because treating yourself feels even better when you know it fits into the plan. 💸✨

Back to school also means back to budgeting 📚✏️ Before you hit the store, make a list and split it into needs vs. wants — notebooks and folders first, the trendy water bottle second.

Start with a quick inventory of what you already have at home (chances are you don’t need 12 new pens). Then set a total spending limit before you shop, not after — it’s a lot easier to say no to the extra impulse buy in the checkout line when you already know your number.

Look for bundle deals on the basics, and save the “fun” purchases for last, once the essentials are covered. A few minutes of planning now saves you from an empty wallet by week two.

Your daily $5 iced coffee isn’t the villain — but it’s a perfect example of the time value of money.

Invest that same $1,800/year instead (~7% avg return): • 10 years → ~$26,600 • 20 years → ~$79,000 • 30 years → ~$184,000

Same amount. Different outcome. Because time compounds — habits don’t have to be big to be powerful, they just have to start early.

What’s your small start? ☕➡️📈

You don’t need a windfall to start saving, you need a system. Even $20 a week adds up to over $1,000 a year. Start where you are 🐷💰

A few ways to build that system:
💵 Automate it. Set up a recurring transfer to savings the same day you get paid, before you have a chance to spend it.
🔁 Start small and adjust. $20 a week is doable for most budgets. Once it feels easy, bump it up.
📅 Review monthly. A quick 10-minute check-in keeps you on track and lets you catch what’s working.

The goal isn’t perfection, it’s consistency. Small, steady deposits build real momentum over time.
