Music for Food

Music for Food A musician-led initiative in the fight against hunger. Mission Statement:

We believe both music and food are essential to human life and growth.

Moved by recent reports that poverty and hunger have risen in the current recession, a group of New England Conservatory artist faculty, students, and alumni, headed by grammy-award winning violist Kim Kashkashian, have united to present a chamber music series to benefit local food pantries. Admission to all concerts is a donation of non-perishable food items or a check to Music for Food, on behal

f of a local pantry. Music has the power to call forth the best in us, inspiring awareness and action when artists and audiences work together to transform the ineffable into tangible and needed food resources. Music for Food is a musician-led initiative for local hunger relief. Our concerts raise resources and awareness in the fight against hunger, empowering all musicians who wish to use their artistry to further social justice.

Hunger is rising. Over 14% of U.S. households now face food insecurity.

At the same time, more than $1 billion in federal support for food banks and school meals has been cut.

Music for Food is responding by turning music into meals, empowering musicians to fight hunger through performance. To sustain this mission and maintain the operational capacity to organize impactful events, we need your support.

We’ve raised $5,000 toward our $15,000 goal by June 30. Will you help us close the gap?

🎶 Your donation supports our concerts and the food pantries they benefit.
