Organizing a summer camp in a post-October 7th environment was very challenging. We faced new, pressing concerns about whether camp could happen due to various risks and the growing tension in the region.
And yet, because of the RJCF community’s generosity and compassion, and the determination of our brave, young, volunteer counselors, we were able to say YES. Yes, to a rare chance for these children to simply be children after two years of unimaginable fear. Yes, to the 17th year of Camp Boston-Sderot.
Camp will take place from August 4th-August 15th in Kfar Silver, Israel. There will be 60 children and 9 Israeli counselors. We have 3 American counselors, Daniel Cutler, Daniella Brodskiy and Eddie Maklin, and Dita Berline as American chaperone and Camp Director, attending for her 5th summer.
We're incredibly proud of the courageous American counselors and Camp Director who have volunteered to travel and lead this year’s camp in Israel, selflessly giving their time to ensure every child feels loved and cared for, despite the uncertainty in Israel.
Their courage and commitment inspire us, and your support empowers them.
This camp stands as a beautiful reminder of how communities, both near and far, can come together with strength. Because of you, these children will carry memories of dance parties, art night, pranks, and lasting friendship rather than the sound of alarms, hostages, and terrorism. And because of you, these volunteer counselors that flew to Israel today will have a deeply impactful and unforgettable summer.
Thank you again for believing in this mission and for standing with the people of Sderot. Your generosity is making a lasting impact.
