How is summer almost over?!🥹(don’t cry because it’s over - smile because it happened.)

☀️Our program team and volunteers kicked it overdrive these last few months, and more than doubled our new students numbers from last year! Thanks to Alissa, Brandon, Enock, Heather, Nate, Susan, and our incredible volunteers for making magic happen for our students!

🔅We soaked up every minute of sunlight this month, between cycling in Windham, paddling at Range Pond, hitting the green at Toddy Brook for some adaptive golf, hosting our Veterans No Boundaries summer camp, or playing pickleball under the lights in South Portland.

Thrilled to be partnering with Mount Washington Valley Rock Fest on the first annual Rock Fest! 🧗On Sunday, September 20, join us for an adaptive climbing clinic!

This one-day clinic offers adaptive climbers a welcoming space to build skills, confidence, and community on the rock - no experience needed!

🩵Accessibility Info:
Participation may require walking up steep and unstable, technical, rocky and sometimes slippery terrain to reach the climbing venue. Adaptive hiking equipment will be made available to help support those who require accommodations. Climbing involves use of the full body with the support of a rope held by your climbing partner.

We are still buzzing from another incredible Veterans No Boundaries (VNB) program. Veterans and their families spent four full days paddling, swimming, climbing, cycling, playing pickleball…and have we mentioned the puppies?! Mission Working Dogs joined us and brought the cutest fluffy guests with them! All in all, it was a VNB for the books!

Here are a few photos from a camp we won’t forget. A huge thank you our incredible volunteers for their time and care, and to our generous partners, Move United and West Paris Provisions, for investing in this community and providing the support that makes this all possible!

The outdoors is for everyone. 🚴🌈

At Summiting Outdoor Accessibility, participants took out our adaptive bikes for a test ride! Thank you to Q***rly ME, Bridge Maine, Outdoor Access Solutions, and Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for a beautiful day of connection, conversation, and collaboration.

We’re excited to help create a Maine where Q***r, disabled folks can thrive in outdoor spaces.

We’re excited to partner with Mount Washington Valley Rock Fest for their inaugural Rock Fest, providing adaptive climbing equipment and support for this year’s adaptive climbing clinic on Sunday, September 20!

This is your chance to take your indoor skills to the cliffs of New Hampshire. Never climbed before, indoors or outdoors? That’s OK! This clinic is open to everyone, regardless of experience level or physical ability. Come try something new, build your skills, and experience the freedom of climbing outside!

We’re so grateful to News Center Maine for capturing the heart of our Veterans No Boundaries Summer Camp. ❤️🇺🇸

This transformative weekend is about so much more than adaptive recreation, it’s about connection, community, trying something new, and creating space for veterans to challenge themselves and build lasting friendships.

Thank you to the veterans, volunteers, staff, and partners who make this incredible experience possible. We’re proud to share a glimpse of the magic that happens at Veterans No Boundaries!

For Navy veteran Jim Keenan, adaptive sports helped him regain confidence, reconnect with his family and rediscover a sense of freedom. Now, he’s helping show other veterans what’s still possible.

There’s more than 55 years of combined service to Maine Adaptive represented by these three incredible people. ❤️

One of our favorite things about events like Veterans No Boundaries is the way they bring our community together and create space for so many special stories, friendships, and connections to come together year after year.

We’re grateful for the people who have been part of this community for decades and continue to make it what it is today.

Day ✌️ of Veterans No Boundaries was a hit 🏓🇺🇸

Veterans enjoyed time on the water, on the climbing wall, and even under the lights for some pickleball. There’s nothing like summer camp in Maine. It’s just the best! 🌲🧗‍♂️
