This is a two year, four stage program; that looks to involve everyone, focus on what matters, and play the long game. It is a way to include everyone’s voice in shaping our community’s future. nderstanding who is in our communities and identifying what is the Heart & Soul of the Mahoosuc region by asking the people who live and work here. A group of volunteers has been working for the past year on the first phase of Heart & Soul, which laid the groundwork for the next phase where we will further explore our communities. What is Mahoosuc Heart & Soul?

Mahoosuc Heart & Soul is a two year, four phase project that includes, Greenwood, Woodstock, Newry, Bethel, and the surrounding townships. Teams of volunteers are following the Heart & Soul method, created by the Orton Family Foundation. This is a grassroots, resident driven method of community planning; that looks to involve everyone, focus on what matters, and play the long game. Engaging residents in an intentional way, it helps people who may not regularly voice their hopes, dreams, and aspirations in civic dialogue a way to participate. Heart & Soul helps give everyone a voice in shaping our community’s future.
