Our speakers today were Birch Allen and Dustin Sysko of West Bethel Makerspace. The nonprofit provides workspace and tools to people with innovative plans and ideas in order to foster economic development and innovation, and support curiosity, learning, and community.
There is a wood shop, a metal shop, digital fabrication, laser cutting and other resources, so people don't have to spend a lot on equipment and tools to develop their ideas into products. WBM also offers courses in related skills.
For more information go to westbethelmakerspace.org. A great resource for the community!

We presented donations this week to the Mahoosuc Land Trust's Monarch Festival, to a Telstar student group planning a trip to Ecuador; and to the Top Tappin Jazz Dance Studio. With Rotarian Dan Hart are, from left, Barbara Murphy of MLT; student Lilly Lewis and Principal Lindsay Luetje of TMS; and Maryanne Jordan of Toe Tappin Jazz. Again, thanks to the community for supporting our fundraisers that support kids and community projects!

Our 11th Annual Bethel Rotary/Mahoosuc Kids Association 5k and 1 mile slime run was an epic success on Saturday! More than 100 kids and adults turned out on a perfect late spring day to enjoy the fun and competition. Thanks so much to Healthreach Community Health Centers for their Presenting Sponsorship, to all the Rotary Club of Bethel, Maine, Mahoosuc Kids Association and Masonic Lodge volunteers, to Crescent Park School for hosting and to the 65 business sponsors who supported the event. 100% of the proceeds will be invested back into our community to support after-school and enrichment programs for area youth! Team work makes the dreams work!
