We would like to extend a warm welcome to Elizabeth Erskine, our 2026 Richard G. Rockefeller Conservation Intern, through the Maine Coast Heritage Trust.

Elizabeth is originally from Massachusetts and is actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science at the University of New England, set to graduate next May. She spends her time outside, reading, crafting, or learning songs on the banjo. With additional interests in photography and conservation, Elizabeth is thrilled to have the opportunity to spend the summer in Bethel interning with IWT.

Drum roll please 🥁 The Whitecap Cliffs hiking trail in the Bethel Community Forest is now open! Located off of the Summit Ridge Trail, it takes hikers through the Bingham Forest and toward Sunday River Resort. This is definitely an adventure you should add to your weekend plans!

Let's hear it for our hardworking trail crew! Parker, Clara, and August (photo cred: Andy) took care of a troublesome drainage issue/mud pile on Helix at the Bethel Village Trails this morning. They turned a squishy situation into a smooth solution before most of us had our second cup of coffee.

We also hear that today is World Bicycle Day. Great way to commemorate the day and celebrate mountain biking and our wonderful trails.
