The Naval War College Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support for the U.S. Naval War College.

The Naval War College Foundation, powered by its generous members and donors, provides critical funds needed to support the Naval War College’s unique ability to develop military and civilian leaders who are:

- Skilled in the strategic and operational challenges of today and tomorrow.
- Dedicated to preserving national security and a global position of leadership.
- Adept at navigating the challenges of war and the prevention of war. The Naval War College is uniquely positioned to further a proud tradition of strong military leadership through a curriculum based in military preparedness, leader development and statesmanship. The Naval War College Foundation supports that tradition by investing in the College, focusing on funding priorities such as:

A beautiful fall setting, friendly competition on the course, and plenty of good company made for a memorable Fall Clay Shoot at Peace Dale Shooting Preserve. From the first shots of the morning to wh***ey tasting and award presentations, the day was full of great moments with our U.S. Naval War College community.

Join us on November 5 at the New York Yacht Club for the 2026 Sentinel of the Sea Award Gala, honoring VADM John Mustin, USN (Ret.), 15th Chief of Navy Reserve and former President of Saildrone. A fifth-generation U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Admiral Mustin served our nation in the Navy for 34 years before continuing his work in national security and emerging technology.

The evening will feature the presentation of the award, along with a fireside chat moderated by Sandra Smith, co-anchor of America Reports, Fox News Channel. The conversation will explore defense, economics, and innovation, informed by Admiral Mustin’s decades of military service and subsequent leadership in the technology sector.

🍂 Crisp fall air, a day on the range, and a little friendly competition. Our Fall Clay Shoot is coming up on Saturday, October 24, and we’d love to see you there! Join us at Peace Dale Shooting Preserve in South Kingstown, RI, for a morning of sporting clays and a chance to connect with friends and supporters of the U.S. Naval War College.

Whether you’re picking up a sh***un for the first time or are a seasoned shooter, the 10-station Grouse Course offers a fun challenge for every skill level. Your registration includes 50 clays and shots, am******on, fi****ms (or bring your own), expert instruction, a safety briefing, eye and ear protection, breakfast, and an awards luncheon.

On October 6, students from the U.S. Naval War College (USNWC) took the field for the 9th Annual Cardines Classic at historic Cardines Field in Newport, RI. ⚾️ The Army-Navy matchup brought the Newport community together to celebrate a baseball event with deep roots in military history. The tradition dates back to a 1918 Army-Navy baseball game in London during World War I, organized by former USNWC President Rear Adm. William S. Sims.

Thank you to the USNWC and the Naval History & Heritage Command for helping continue this longstanding tradition. We also extend our appreciation to the Pritzker Military Foundation, on behalf of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library, for their support.

We’re already looking forward to next year as we celebrate 10 years of the Cardines Classic!

Trinity Church, Newport is celebrating its 300th anniversary throughout the year with special events honoring its rich history and community connections. ⚓️ On Sunday, October 11, the church will host "Sea Service Sunday" during its 10 a.m. service, recognizing its ties to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Marine Corps. The church also has a longstanding connection to the U.S. Naval War College (USNWC), dating back to the College’s founding in 1884. Over the years, the congregation has welcomed USNWC faculty, staff, and students, including leaders such as Admirals William S. Pyle and Raymond Spruance.

The service takes place just ahead of the Navy’s 251st birthday on October 13.
Active and retired service members and their families are welcome, in or out of uniform. For parking information, please visit trinitynewport.org.
