Our summer campers LOVE getting skating lessons from our pals at of Newport Skatepark and Water Brothers. This year, Water Brothers donated skateboards and helmets so our kids have equipment of their own. They are SO excited, and we are very grateful. 🛹🫶 🤙

Do you have a child aged 18 months to four years old? Haven’t had a chance to experience the sensory learning activities offered in The Kids’ Wonder Lab yet? Good news: 📣Registration is open for our new Fall 2026 sessions! 📣

We are opening the program to two sessions that will run for 10 weeks every Monday, free of charge. The first session is from 9:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and the second is from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., starting Monday, September 14. 🤩

In The Kids’ Wonder Lab, kids learn and develop social and developmental skills with play that draws upon their senses. They will learn through sounds, touch, taste, smell, and vision with light tables, kinetic sand, water-based activities, music, and more. 🎶🍏🫧🌺🤿

To register, reach out to our Community Programs Manager, Erin Patel, at [email protected] or 401.846.4828 x124. 💫

This summer, our staff asked our campers what life skills they wanted to learn. They said they wanted to learn how to do laundry and proper restaurant etiquette! They started assisting with our Rinse & Renew program by washing towels. 🫧

We also set up a mock restaurant for lunch right here at the Center. Menus were made, volunteers came in to act as servers, and our kids learned how to order from a menu, ask for the check, the whole nine! 🍽

We are so proud of them for taking the initiative to learn these important life skills. 💙💛

We are still thinking about The Ravers performance at this month’s Live from the Loading Dock – Parkside concert, presented by Teri Degnan Real Estate & Consulting, LTD. We had such an amazing crowd, the food was delicious, and of course, the music was stellar. 🎶

We have one more concert left! On Wednesday, September 16, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., the Camelia Latin Dance Band will join us at the MLK for a lively performance. See you there! 😁

Thanks to Owen's Kicks 4 Kids, our graduating preschoolers will start kindergarten this fall in style! Ginger, the organization’s founder, provided new Skechers for each child in their size and favorite color, with new cinch bags to match. They were ecstatic to get their fresh new kicks (and we know their parents are, too.). They grow so fast! 👟
