Community Center is a multi-service agency providing nutritional, educational, social and referral services to hundreds of individuals and families throughout Newport County. Incorporated in 1922 and renamed in honor of Dr. King in 1968, the MLK is one of Newport’s oldest grassroots organizations. The privately funded, non-profit community center offers the area’s highest-volume food pantry and only daily meal site, plus a comprehensive roster of educational and enrichment programs.

Last night we hosted an outdoor screening of Water Brother. The film is a heartwarming homage to our tight-knit community here in Newport and the decades of dedication Sid Abbruzzi has shown for our city. If you haven't seen it, you can stream it on Apple TV or Amazon Prime. It is phenomenal. 💙💛

last week at Senior Lunch & Learn, we enjoyed Gyros and mocktails made in-house by our amazing kitchen staff. Our Community Programs Assistant, Maddie, led the group through the sip-and-paint demonstration. Participants could follow along or create a masterpiece of their own choosing. Everyone had so much fun diving into their creative side. What a blast! 🎨🥂

Let's hoop! 🏀 Join us Friday, June 19 for our second annual Juneteenth 3x3 Youth Basketball Tournament and BBQ.

Teams of 4 from grades 5 - 12, boys and girls, are invited to participate in a 3x3 tournament on Juneteenth. Friends and families are encouraged to join for a delicious BBQ, a live DJ, and ice cream. Participants should arrive at 11:30 a.m. for check-in.
