There’s a lot happening on Rhode Island waters today, Saturday, August 8. Before heading out, be aware of these events:

🏊 Save The Bay Swim – Bridge Area Closure | 7 AM–12 PM
⛵ Fool’s Rules Regatta | 9 AM–4 PM
⛵ Morgan Cup Team Race – NYYC | 10 AM–4 PM
⚓ Safe Harbor Race Weekend | 11 AM–5 PM

With multiple events happening throughout the day, stay alert, give participants plenty of space, and boat safely.

🚨 Attention Boaters on Narragansett Bay! 🚨

If you’re planning to be on the water this Saturday, August 1 at 1:00 PM, please be aware of the annual Poker Run departing from the Tipsy Seagull in Fall River.

More than 50 high-performance boats, many capable of speeds over 100 MPH, are expected to travel this route:

📍 Fall River (Braga Bridge)
➡️ Newport
➡️ Around the Newport Jazz Festival area
➡️ Beavertail
➡️ East Greenwich
➡️ Providence
➡️ Bristol
➡️ Back to Fall River

While these boats are not racing, they do travel at very high speeds. Everyone on the water should stay alert, maintain a proper lookout, minimize distractions, and give these vessels plenty of space to operate safely.
