Center for the Study of Newport Furniture The CSNF will host regular events related to the study of Newport furniture, including symposia and tours of collections.

The Center for the Study of Newport Furniture is an educational non-profit founded to promote the scholarship, understanding, and appreciation of Newport, Rhode Island furniture and the Newport cabinetmaking trade prior to 1850. This subject includes the Townsend and Goddard cabinetmakers as well as over one hundred fifty other Newport cabinetmakers documented to have worked in the trade. The CSNF

is intended to serve as the center for the exchange of information on the subject and a repository for the documentation of existing pieces in the Registry of Newport Furniture.
