We are pleased to announce that in celebration of the Martha Graham Dance Company Centennial (), Ballet Tech will be licensing and staging one of Graham's classic works, “Panorama,” on our 7th and 8th graders for Kids Dance 2027.

In preparation for this work, Ballet Tech alumna and acclaimed dance artist Tamisha Guy () is teaching Graham technique to our students. They are learning the fundamentals, including contraction and release, floorwork, the spiral, and more. We are so grateful to Tamisha, and we look forward to seeing how the students progress over the course of their Graham training.

If you are still musing about the music from Dionne Figgins' Echoes of the Studio, then you're in luck! George Lykogiannis' composition is now available to listen on all streaming services.

The collaboration that went into the creation of this album is truly remarkable—from months of George composing while Dionne choregraphed alongside, down to the cover art drawn by an alumni parent, Julia Kopelson. We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in bringing this piece to life.

Happy last of August! Today we are featuring "Charmed Lives," Eliot Feld's ballet which premiered in 1990 with dancers Lynn Aaron, Darren Gibson, and Joan Tsao. This piece received a rave review in the New York Times upon its premiere, where it was described as, "not a conventional pas de trois...the dancers are seen as individuals, not as partners...they are not interchangeable but are distinctly different performers."

We are excited to announce that “Charmed Lives" will be restaged for Kids Dance 2027 at The Joyce Theater in June! Joan Tsao, former Feld Ballets company member and one of the premier cast dancers, will be staging this work on Ballet Tech alumni. If you're an alum who is 18 years or older, please keep a look out for an invitation to audition.
