This , we’re celebrating the determination and community that make the Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M Presented by TD Bank so special.

For Alex Jones of Achilles New Jersey, movement means freedom. Through Achilles, he’s found a community where his abilities are celebrated. After completing last month’s Essex County Cherry Blossom 10K alongside 4,000 runners, Alex is preparing to take on the Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M for the first time.

“When he is on his handcycle, it transforms into an instrument of speed and power. It gives him the chance to break down barriers, compete right alongside everyone else, and experience the pure joy of the open road,” shares Alex’s father.

Global Running Day is about movement for everyone, and Alex embodies that spirit. Help us wish him luck as he gets ready for race day! 🎉

Achilles International is pleased to announce that we will officially operate United in Stride, a one-to-one digital matching program that connects people who are blind or have low vision with running and walking guides in their community. By combining Achilles’ chapter network with United in Stride’s digital platform, we’re excited to help make movement more accessible than ever before. The transition is ongoing and progress updates on how members can begin accessing will be communicated later this June. We thank the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Richard Hunter for this incredible tool and entrusting us to continue its legacy forward. As we gear up for Boston Marathon weekend, we thank our partner General Motors Military Appreciation Program for its support of the and creating memories for our athletes. Tune in to the Boston Red Sox game on Sunday to see a special ceremony and first pitch.⚾

Twenty veterans will power up Heartbreak Hill to the finish line on Boylston Street on Monday with 115 Achilles teammates, including guides, charity runners and chapter athletes. Wish our entire Achilles community good luck in the comments below.
