Gottscheer Choruses New York We are a Men's and Women's Chorus based in Ridgewood, NY. This choir was established to keep our Gottscheer heritage alive through song.

The Women’s Choir will celebrate its 90th Anniversary in 2027! Rehearsals are Saturday 9AM at Gotscheer Hall, Second Floor. All new members are welcome to attend.

The Deutsch-Gottscheer Gesangsverein, along with the Gottscheer Maennerchor, sadly mourn the passing of Zina Vissokovsky, nee Irma Jaklitsch born in Masern, Gottschee, who passed away on Jan. 4th, 2026. Our deepest condolences to Zina's family and friends during this difficult time, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Zina was a long-time, valued member of our Choir and she will be deeply missed. May Zina RIP. Ruhe in Frieden.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14th as follows:
Liturgy: from 9 - 10:30 am and
Funeral: at 11 am - noon.....both at Holy Annunciation R.O. Church, 42-67 147th Street, Flushing, NY 11355 (between Beech & Cherry Ave.,). There will be no wake or viewing.

The Internment is to be held at the Russian Orthodox Convent Novo Diveevo, Smith Road, Spring Valley, NY 10977.

Should anyone wish to make a donation in Zina's memory, the family has requested donations be made to the Gottscheer Relief Association, New York, 657 Fairview Ave., Ridgewood, NY 11385 or the Russian Orthodox Convent Novo Diveevo, Smith Road, Spring Valley, NY 10977.

This Saturday 11/15!

Gottscheer Memorial Mass

Hope you can join us on Saturday, November 15th at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Glendale.

This is a memorial mass in honor of and to remember all of our deceased family, friends, and all those who have gone before us. After mass, all are invited to the church basement for coffee and cake.

When you enter the church, there will be a table with slips of paper and a basket. You may write the names of those that you want to be remembered at the mass.

**IF YOU WROTE DOWN THE NAME(S) AT A PRIOR YEARS MASS YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO IT AGAIN THIS YEAR ! **

After the mass, the names will be put in a memorial book.

You may also print and cut out the memorial form here and bring it with you to mass. This will save you time. Please remember to fold the slip of paper and put it into the basket as you enter Sacred Heart.

Please attend the Gottscheer Memorial Mass on November 15th, 2025, 11:30 am, at Sacred Heart Church in Glendale...hosted by the Gottscheer Choirs and the Gottscheer Relief Association, New York.
Refreshments will be served in the church basement immediately following Mass. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Back in July at the 61st Gottscheer Treffen hosted by the EOUV Club, the ladies of the Deutsch Gottscheer Gesangsverein had the honor of recording the Gottscheermesse with the Cleveland Gottscheer Heimatchor! It was the first time this mass has ever been recorded by any Gottscheer choir!
We also had the honor of performing with the Heimatchor during the Treffen Mass on the Sunday of Treffen weekend!
We thank the Vorstand and members of the Gottscheer Heimatchor for asking the New York choirs to be a part of this vital piece to our Gottscheer history!🩵🎶🎼
