BloomAgainBklyn BloomAgainBklyn brings new life to flowers and joy to others by repurposing unsold flowers into arrangements that we deliver to those in need.

BloomAgainBklyn is a community-based, non-profit organization which takes unsold or once-used flowers destined for the trash, and refurbishes them into new arrangements which are distributed by volunteers to homebound seniors, local nursing home residents and others in need. The organization’s goal is to create an uplifting experience for those who may not regularly have visitors or receive flowers, and also facilitate positive interactions between volunteers and recipients. BloomAgainBklyn also fulfills an ecological purpose by extending the lifespan of flowers by using them in a more environmentally productive way before the flowers are discarded and composted. BloomAgainBklyn is a non-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of New York and classified as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and eligible to receive tax deductible requests.

Through BloomAgainBklyn’s wedding and event flower breakdown service, we transform donated arrangements into smaller bouquets for our community partners. Extend the life of your florals with a second act and know that your flowers are putting a smile on someone’s face!

On a rainy Sunday morning, BloomAgainBklyn volunteers arranged dozens upon dozens of beautiful pastel bouquets for the wonderful women of the YWCA community. We are so grateful to the Glickenhaus family for generously donating the wedding flowers that made this workshop possible. A special thank you to Leslie Mastin and DeJuan Stroud for their help giving these florals a second life at the YWCA.

Last week, we were joined by GRIOT Circle to close out the summer season with a little creativity, connection, and floral care. We loved holding a workshop with this Brooklyn-based nonprofit, which supports LGBTQ+ older adults through community, wellness, advocacy, and cultural programming. Together, we spent the morning making bouquets and sharing stories.

A huge thank you to The Bouqs Company and Starbright Floral Design for generously donating the flowers that made this workshop possible and helped send the summer off in bloom.

Over the summer, several cohorts from YWCA Brooklyn’s YW Brooklyn LEAD program — a year-round curriculum dedicated to advancing educational outcomes and economic empowerment for high school girls — joined us on site to build arrangements for our community partners.

This program aims “to improve the future of underserved girls from poverty-impacted communities by providing the support and resources they need throughout high school, starting in 10th grade, to gain admission to colleges of their choice, sometimes with full financial aid.”

We’ve loved seeing these girls’ enthusiasm and creativity! Thanks for joining us, YWCA Brooklyn.

A sea of gorgeous hydrangeas from Noble Diaz Events spread across our courtyard today 💐 High school girls from YW Brooklyn LEAD — a college access and leadership development program at YWCA Brooklyn — joined teachers from PS 307 PTA, where we bring our Agents of Change program, to turn these hydrangeas, plus other lovely floral donations, into beautiful arrangements. These will go to our community partners Friendships for Life New York and Cobble Hill Health Center — and, deservedly, some stayed right here with the students and teachers who made them. 🌸 Thank you, Noble Diaz!

It was great to be back at KKR — and to see so many new faces join in! 💐

Twenty KKR volunteers created 140 beautiful arrangements that were delivered to the women at YWCA Brooklyn. Their generosity brought so much joy while fostering community and connection through the shared beauty of upcycled flowers.

Thank you to everyone who came out—returning friends and first-timers alike—for turning these flowers into moments of joy for the YWCA residents.
