LaneCoArts explores the concept of communication in today’s technologically driven world through a self-referential process of collaboration with other artists where the juxtaposed creative languages, engender a process of essential interchange, communication and cross-pollination. The goal is to connect with today’s audience through meaningful social commentary and physically charged dance dramas
. After attending Purchase College Conservatory of Dance / MFA program, Lane Gifford founded LaneCoArts in 2006. Performances include: Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, New York International Fringe Festival, Dixon Place, Baruch Performing Arts Center, Triskelion Arts, Le Poisson Rouge, New York Theater Workshop, the 92nd St. Y, Judson Church/STUFFED, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, DANCENOW, Boston Center For The Arts/Mills Gallery, Dance New Amsterdam RAW Directions, American Dance Guild, ITE Dance Festival, Women in Dance Project/Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Freight Project Residency/Performance and LaneCoArts presented by Performance Project at University Settlement/2015. Commissioned projects include Boston Center for the Arts/Dance Resident Artist Program/2015, a 2014 commission for Fellowship Recipient Kari Mosel (McKnight Artist Program), a Choreographic Fellowship at the University of Kansas/2014, residency and new creation for Southern Utah University/2012 & 2013, collaborative work for Ballet Nouveau Colorado and Redline Gallery/2011, commissioned work for Joffrey Ballet School/2015, Bryant Park Festival/2016, and Northeast Choreographer Residency/2016. Lane Gifford was a finalist in the Western Michigan University 2015 National Choreography Competition. Upcoming events 2017: Dance Place (Washington DC), Jersey City Theater Center, and a Kaatsbaan Residency.
