It was great to be in attendance at NYCETC’s Workforce Drop yesterday at The Greene Space, featuring CEO Gregory J Morris, MPA in conversation with CEO Richard Buery, Jr.

The wide-ranging conversation touched on everything from personal motivation and the education system to the changing world of work and the role of AI in shaping what comes next.

We’re grateful to NYCETC for bringing together leaders across New York City’s workforce ecosystem for thoughtful conversations about how we can continue building pathways to opportunity for New Yorkers.

🎓Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating another group of graduates from ACI’s Masonry Restoration Program, in partnership with .intl.

Our graduates put in the work to build hands-on skills in construction, masonry, and building repair -- and we’re proud to see them take the next step toward meaningful careers!

This graduation also featured a special financial education session hosted by local staff, giving our students an opportunity to build knowledge and confidence around managing their finances alongside their professional skills.

Congratulations to our graduates -- and thank you to all of the partners who help make these opportunities possible. Skills, support, and a stronger financial future all go hand in hand. 🧱💙

Yesterday, ACI's Executive Director joined Con Edison for a tour of the Newtown Substation and to celebrate the completion of the Reliable Clean City LIC Project, a major investment that strengthens electric reliability and adds 200 MW of capacity for Western Queens.

As an organization proudly rooted in Long Island City, it was inspiring to learn more about the infrastructure that powers our community and to meet the dedicated Con Edison team working behind the scenes every day.

We're especially proud to celebrate Maggie Walters, Con Edison's Vice President of Substation Operations and one of ACI's newest Board Members, who helped lead the presentation. Her leadership and commitment to both the energy sector and our mission to create pathways to family-sustaining careers make her an incredible asset to our organization.

🔨Building Careers. Building a Greener New York -

Last week, another cohort of future construction professionals took the next step toward rewarding careers through ACI's Clean Construction Technology Training Program.

Participants received hands-on instruction in green construction and energy efficiency practices while earning industry-recognized credentials that prepare them for today's evolving construction workforce. Through classroom learning, practical skills training, and career readiness support, our trainees are gaining the tools they need to secure family-sustaining careers while helping build a more sustainable future.

We are incredibly grateful to for once again sponsoring this important program. Their continued investment in workforce development is helping expand access to high-quality training and create meaningful economic opportunities for New Yorkers facing barriers to employment.

What an unforgettable evening at the Big Give with ✨

Last night, ACI was honored to stand alongside other inspiring organizations as a finalist for the Impact100 NYC Grant. While we didn’t take home the top award, we did receive a $15,000 grant to advance our mission — and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Being in a room full of empowering women leaders committed to collective giving and community transformation was truly energizing. We’re proud to be part of a network that believes in equity, opportunity, and second chances for New Yorkers facing barriers to employment.
