📣 HIA Senior Fellow Christiana Bukalo and her Statefree e.V. organization have been tirelessly advocating for the rights of stateless persons in Germany (and world-wide). Their work includes awareness raising, community building, as well as advocating in the German Government and beyond.

👩‍⚖️ This year, the law on the digitization of migration administration in Germany will be passed - with their demands!

💬 "It is important to note that the change that is needed for stateless persons in Germany in the long term is the introduction of a regulation on the recognition of statelessness… Nevertheless, [this] is an important sign that Germany finally dares to look where there has been a big blind spot so far,” Christiana shared via LinkedIn.

FeMig.Lab aims to make more visible the multifaceted history of female labour migration in and to Europe in the 20th century and its impact on today’s societies.

It brings together museums, memorials, cultural research institutions and migrant organizations throughout Europe to exchange and work on a differentiated and intersectional narrative about European migration history and its interconnectedness with colonialism, the Cold War, and the struggle for democratic and diverse societies.
