Applications for the 2026 fall Chef Bootcamp for Policy and Change® are now open!

Since 2012, our Chef Bootcamp has trained hundreds of chef-advocates to engage with the policies shaping our food system. Each cohort includes:
✅ Policy and media training by industry and political experts on specific food system topics
✅ A geographically, culturally, and demographically diverse group of chefs
✅ Hands-on activities that engage with local resources

The 2026 fall Chef Bootcamp will be held September 28–30 at Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming in Cold Spring, NY.

What happens when women invest in each other’s growth?

At our 2026 Financial Literacy Workshop, women and non-binary entrepreneurs came together for two days of learning, knowledge exchange, and in-person connection. Attendee Sabine Langer reflected:

“[This] was a reminder that excellence doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through preparation, transparency, community, and a willingness to learn from one another.”

Through programs like our Financial Literacy Workshop and Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (WEL), we’re working to break down barriers, build networks, and grow women-owned businesses across the industry. In honor of James Beard’s 123rd birthday, our team went back to the archives and recreated one of his most beloved recipes: the onion sandwich. 🧅

First published in 1965, this sandwich recipe quickly rose to fame for its ease and combination of just five ingredients: bread, mayo, white onion, salt, and parsley.

👀 But we wanted to know, does it hold up 60 years later?
