For Fred Derilus, a Development School for Youth alum, connection isn’t just an idea—it’s something you build.

In this video clip, Fred shares how the importance of showing up for others and building relationships has shaped his journey. Today, as the founder of Invited Coffee and Invited Leisure, he’s creating spaces in Newark where people come together through coffee, conversation and culture.

His work is a powerful example of how connection can be turned into community. 🎥 Watch Fred’s story:

Thanks to everyone who joined us recently at the All Stars Project’s 42nd Street Center for “Leading with Impact: A Fireside Chat with All Stars President and CEO Chris Street.” It was a good opportunity to hear from our CEO, connect with alumni, and talk about what the future could look like for this space.

The night included thoughtful conversations with Chris Street and Senior Vice President of Programs and Strategic Initiatives Shadae McDaniel, as well as stories from All Stars alumni like Monica Ofori and Janneth Trejo.

We were proud to announce a $5,000 grant for Monica’s work with the D.R.E.A.M. Initiative in Far Rockaway, which supports youth through mentorship and community programs. Thank you to everyone who has and continues to be a part of this community and for the work being done to support young leaders in their growth.
