Trans Scripts is an interdisciplinary, multi-phase, performing arts, education and outreach project created to raise awareness of and demystify the transgender experience for a broader audience. At the core of the project is a 100-minute stage play, featuring seven actors. The script is drawn from interviews with over 60 people of trans experience, in their own words. Performances are supplemented

and enriched by guest speakers, talk back sessions, educational materials and online resources that promote trans awareness. Outreach programs range from a one-off theatrical presentation with a lecture and/or talkback session to full residencies at universities and theatre companies working with both performers and non-performers to explore issues of gender, gender expression, identity and sexuality.
