Pulse, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that places the needs of children foremost, with the recognition that a significant amount of childhood mortality is preventable.

Day 4 began with grand rounds lectures by Dr. Louisdon Pierre and Dr. Adebayo Adeyinka at Kibagabaga Level II Teaching Hospital.

Later, the PULSE team toured the Adventist School of Medicine of East-Central Africa (ASOME), exploring its laboratories and simulation facilities. The day concluded with an opportunity to meet with the school’s administrators and discuss continued collaboration in medical education of pediatric intensive care.

Day 3 | Continuing the Training 🩺 We continued with another group of local nurses and physicians participating in the PULSE training program.

Through hands-on clinical scenarios and interactive teaching, our faculty continued equipping participants with practical skills to strengthen pediatric emergency and critical care.

Day 2 | Preparation & Training 🩺📑 We began with the registration of our local healthcare providers as the PULSE team prepared the Clinical Skills Stations for the training.

Once everything was in place, Our course director, Dr. Adebayo Adeyinka gave a brief introduction followed by the skills stations led by project manager Dr. Louisdon Pierre and Dr. Adebayo Adeyinka with tech assistance from EMTs and medical students, Clarisse Pierre, Adeola Adeyinka and Dorisse Pierre. They led hands-on teaching sessions at each station, involving collaborative learning and simulation training.

Our Rwanda medical mission trip has officially concluded, and over the coming days we’ll be sharing highlights from each day of the journey.

Day 1 | Arrival 🇷🇼✈️

The PULSE (Pediatric Universal Life Saving Effort) team arrived safely in Kigali, Rwanda, ready to begin a week of collaboration, education, and service with local healthcare providers.
