On 5/3 almost 100 leaders from MT, Bronx First/ South Bronx Churches, East Brooklyn Congregations and others from Metro IAF NY joined Ritchie Torres to celebrate Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani's commitment to fix New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) by expanding ombnyc.com (which has already helped 32K+ families get real mold and leak repairs.

If you have a mold or leak problem and NYCHA hasn't fixed it, contact the OCC at http://ombnyc.com or 888-341-7152. They are independent and they get results.

Thanks to Ritchie Torres, who has been one of the best partners to Manhattan Together, East Brooklyn Congregations, Bronx First/South Bronx Churches Sbc and the rest of Metro IAF NY in our efforts to improve New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). Thanks specifically for your help in establishing and promoting ombnyc.com. Together, we will expand the Occ and build on this successful model that’s helped 32,000 NYCHA families get real repairs already.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re grateful to everyone who helped Manhattan Together make real progress: expanding access to mental health care, advancing safety for all, and winning improvements to NYC public housing.

For years, MT tenants and allies have helped lead Metro IAF NY’s campaign to make NYCHA a decent place to call home. This video shows how our organizing has helped 69,000+ families secure real repairs and upgrades:

While too many tenants still face unacceptable conditions, commitments we won from the Mayor-elect, our further efforts through the Consent Decree, and our continued organizing give us a real opportunity to make even more progress in 2026.

As Metro IAF tenant leaders Saadiya Robinson and Yolanda Moore say, for RAD/PACT to work, New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has to improve its accountability. Monitoring HPD violations is a critical first step. Deeper and broader cooperation with ombnyc.com, the effective accountability system we helped to build is the next.
