Our next Alum Shout Out is Ariel Sanchez '11!
DLSA alumnus Ariel is a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) candidate at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Following his graduation from DLSA, Ariel attended Regis High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University. Before entering medical school, he returned to DLSA as a math and science teacher, spending three years giving back to the community that helped shape him. Ariel is now completing his medical training; last spring, he returned to share his experiences with current students during Health Education Week!
Ariel says of his time at DLSA:
“Whenever I return to DLSA, it feels like coming home. DLSA taught me what it means to be part of a community that loves and supports you. As a student, I learned the importance of giving back; as a teacher, I learned the privilege of mentoring others. Returning now as a future physician reminds me why I love working with young people and how the lessons I learned at DLSA continue to shape the way I care for others. I am grateful to be a part of the DLSA family.”
