What started out as a simple, fun outlet for kids in the community evolved into a program that armed young people with tools to enable them to be confident and self-sufficient individuals that could operate in different environments, think for themselves, thrive and contribute positively to society.

So proud of Alumnus - Alpha Bangura doing great things!

Its great to see our graduates taking on leadership roles and utilizing some of the skills they learnt at Camp Visao to support other youth.

A little over a week ago he made and sold hand-crafted Valentine's Day cards on his campus to raise funds so that this summer he can carry out his required capstone project and research for his thesis, as well as purchase sanitary pads for girls in Rwanda. For those of you who aren't aware, a capstone project is a service-learning project designed for students to actively use the knowledge and skills they have learnt and mastered in their concentration at university to complete something for their community.

Last week he delivered the first set of sanitary pads which he was able to purchase using some of the funds raised from the sale of his cards. Although his fundraiser was a success, Alpha still has quite a ways to go to reach his fundraising goal to carry out his project and field research. His goal is to raise $2,500 to cover operational, registration, travel, field research and documenting costs for his project.

Any contribution he receives will be greatly appreciated as it'll help him get one step closer to achieving his goal.
