Humor, heart, and chutzpah!

June 10 we braved the heat in downtown Boston (and other cities) to urge legislators to put PEOPLE over utility company profits.

Thanks to all the climate activists who showed up to make it clear that we need to transition to clean energy and protect working households from profiteering.

What do our political leaders in DC get wrong about religion? We have thoughts. 🫤

Dayenu's visionary founder Rabbi Jennie Rosenn was among 14 religious leaders who answered the question, and sent up a call for "faith in the possibility of transformation and commitment to future generations."

Which to us means a dedication to climate justice.

☀️ As we celebrate the sweetness of long hot summer days, may we accept the invitation to step into the shade to rest and renew.🌳

Shabbat reminds us of the importance of rest. Tricia Hersey's Nap Ministry work, including two books on the importance of rest in movement work, reminds us that all the work we do cannot happen without rest.

Right now, Dayenu organizers and volunteers are working hard to build momentum around midterm elections. Shabbat is a weekly reminder that occasional rest is needed, holy, valuable for its own sake (not only so that we may continue showing up for climate justice work more boldly and energized than before).

We wish you a Shabbat full of joyful rest and good books! Be well, dear community.

SOLAR IS THE FUTURE.☀️

GOOD NEWS: Solar panels just supplied MORE of the US electricity supply than coal for the first month in our history. WE CAN DO THIS.

URGENT ACTION: California is going strong on AB 1813, the Community Solar and Storage Act. It will be heard in Senate EU&C Committee on June 16.
NOW is the time to sign on to tell your elected representatives how strongly you feel about the need to invest in solar and transition off deadly fossil fuels.

Take action: Big Oil is not above the law 📣

Email your Members of Congress and tell them to reject a law that would grant immunity to fossil fuel corporations. d.aye.nu/oil-action

The proposed law would protect Big Oil from lawsuits brought by communities harmed by climate disasters, and shift the costs of fires, floods, hurricanes, and rising seas onto taxpayers.

Join us to say: Big Oil can afford to pay for the damages it causes, and the government should not shield rich corporate polluters from accountability.
