Stop by the STEM Kids NYC table for hands-on fun that sparks curiosity! We’ll explore science discovery as we grow germs, engineer cars that go VROOM, build catapults, and play mini soccer games with robots! ⚽

For 11 years, STEM Kids NYC has been enlivening the minds of students ages 3–16 turning big questions into exciting discoveries. Bring your curiosity, your family, and your friends—and come create with us!

Today, our STEMXplorers at the STEMXplorers Innovation Lab took learning outside the classroom with an exciting trip to the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey! 🔬🧪✨

Our explorers got hands-on with interactive exhibits, from riding the rope-powered carousel 🎠 and taking on the rock-climbing challenge 🧗🏾‍♀️ to building their own railway with the Thomas the Tank Engine exhibit 🚂🛤️. Every activity brought science, engineering, and creativity to life!

What an awesome day of exploring, experimenting, and having fun! 💡🙌🏾

☀️🤖 Today was all about harnessing the power of the sun at the STEMXplorers Innovation Lab! Our STEMXplorers tackled a Microsoft MakeCode challenge, engineered solar ovens to explore how sunlight becomes heat energy, and made ice cream while investigating heat transfer. 🍦🔬
We wrapped up with Sphero Indi robots, putting coding, sequencing, and problem-solving skills to the test! 💻🤖

Week 3 of STEMXplorers Innovation Camp came to an exciting close! 🧪🌎 Students explored the American Museum of Natural History and the Forth Science Center, discovering exhibits featuring ocean life, North American forests, gems and minerals, Planet Earth, the Discovery Room, and so much more! 🔭🦋💎

To wrap up the day, students got creative and drew their favorite exhibit from their visit. 🎨✨ What an amazing way to end another week of exploration and discovery!

🚀 Thursday at the STEMXplorers Innovation Lab was packed with creativity, coding, and engineering! Our young coders wrapped up CodeSpark while our older programmers completed their multiplayer function in Microsoft MakeCode. 💻✨
Then, our engineers built marble mazes and cardboard water-moving airplane launchers! 🌊✈️ To finish the day, our creators designed paper bag kites and moving fidget toys. So many ideas were brought to life! 🎨🔧

🔬✨ Wednesday at the STEMXplorers Innovation Lab was packed with coding, engineering, science, and creativity!

Our young coders explored Kodable and built LED flashlights 💡, while our older engineers learned multiplayer functions in Microsoft MakeCode and designed paddleboats from popsicle sticks that actually moved through the water! 🚤

The creativity continued with nature collages 🍃 and Petri dish investigations into microorganisms 🦠, while our older creators explored axles, simple machines, and pendulum-like animal designs! ⚙️🐾

🚀🔬 What a day of STEM exploration! Our older students kicked things off with coding in Microsoft MakeCode while our younger learners continued building their coding skills with CodeSpark. 💻
Then, everyone became a scientist! 🥛✨ Students turned milk into plastic using vinegar and explored color, chemistry, and surface tension with a milk, food coloring, and dish soap activity.
After a quick park break 🌳, our younger students built Pom Pom launchers while the older students engineered DIY robotic hands using paper and straws! 🤖✋
From coding to chemistry to engineering, there was something to discover at every age! 🌟

Week 3 of the STEMXPlorers’ Innovation Lab was packed with creativity, technology, and discovery! 🚀 Younger students began exploring CodeSpark, while older students got their first introduction to Microsoft MakeCode. 💻 Students also explored their own DNA through an interactive activity, learned Computer-Aided Design (CAD) with Tinkercad, and created DNA bracelets! 🧬✨ To wrap things up, students put the finishing touches on their projects and celebrated all they accomplished. 🎉

🎉 Week 2 of the STEMKidsNYC STEMXPlorers’ Innovation Lab ended with a bang at the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath)! 🧮✨
Our students explored math in creative and unexpected ways—from riding the famous square-wheeled tricycle 🚲 to experimenting with digital painting, creating origami, and exploring fractions, prime numbers, and counting.
They also interacted with exhibits like Synchronized Spin, Twist ’n’ Roll, and Polypaint, discovering how mathematics can shape art, movement, patterns, and even the way things roll! 🎨🔢
What a fun way to wrap up an incredible week of learning! 🚀

What an incredible Day 4 of Week 2 at the STEMXPlorers’ Innovation Lab! 🚀 Students learned about STEM icon Callum Daniel, who launched his tech company at just 9 years old, inspiring our young innovators to dream big. 🌟 They wrapped up and presented their CodeSpark games 🎮, explored sustainability by designing cities powered by wind turbines 🌬️🏙️, and completed their DIY Operation Games while learning how buzzers, LEDs, batteries, and conductive tape work together to create paper circuits. 💡⚡
