HMI was proud to celebrate CEO Amy Harclerode at Women in Development’s 2026 Woman of Achievement Luncheon, recognizing her leadership and commitment to LGBTQIA+ youth.

The luncheon featured remarks from former colleague and WID Board Member, Jackie Garcia and HMI Chief Program Officer Bridget Hughes before Amy reflected on collaboration, leadership, and the shared experiences of women in nonprofit development.

As a foundational leader in HMI’s earliest days and a driving force behind Harvey Milk High School, Joyce helped pioneer spaces where LGBTQIA+ youth could find affirmation, dignity, and support. Her impact lives on in generations of young people.
