Come celebrate the next generation of LGBTQIA+ artists at HMI’s 2026 Youth Art Showcase: The Salon—an art salon-style happy hour highlighting the creativity, talent, and voices of q***r and trans youth.

Join us at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club on Monday, October 19, from 6 to 8 pm for an inspiring evening featuring youth visual artwork, select live performances, light bites, and refreshments.

Let’s do the Time Warp again! 🎬👄

Join Sapphic Setup on Monday, October 19, for a special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Sugar Mouse at 7 pm. Come in costume and celebrate this cult classic with a room full of q***r community. Props will be provided so everyone can join in on the fun!

28 years ago today, Matthew Shepard’s life was tragically cut short by hate. His memory reminds us that the fight for acceptance, equality, and safety for LGBTQIA+ people is far from over.

Hetrick-Martin Institute mourns the passing of Rosemary Edwards, beloved sister of our founder, Dr. Damien Martin, and a cherished member of the extended HMI family.

Rosemary’s connection to HMI was deeply personal, and her family has remained an important part of our community throughout the years. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Rosemary’s family, friends, and loved ones as we honor her memory and celebrate her life. May she rest in peace. 🕊️

Ahead of World Mental Health Day this Saturday, we’re highlighting the impact that support, community, and affirming care can have for LGBTQIA+ young people.

While engaged at HMI, young people show a 45% reduction in severe depression and a 41% reduction in severe anxiety. The Emery Awards help make this work possible, raising critical funds to ensure young people have a place where they feel safe, seen, supported, and able to thrive.
