Our public lands belong to all of us, and so do the stories they hold.

Right now, efforts from the administration and Congress are working to strip inclusive language and accurate history out of the places we share. But erasing the past does not change who these lands belong to, or who belongs in them.

Join us this Thursday, June 18, at 12:00 PM PT / 1:00 PM MT / 2:00 PM CT / 3:00 PM ET for a conversation on how communities are keeping our history honest, renaming racist place names, and turning belonging, respect, and connection into everyday practice: from programs to policy to grantmaking.

Our speakers are leaders from Justice Outside, Sierra Club, GreenLatinos, and the City of Annapolis. They are paving the way for all of us to claim the freedom to see our full story, and to belong in the places we share.

From the Boundary Waters to the Black Hills to the Pacific Ocean floor, mining corporations are overriding community voices, ignoring tribal treaty rights, and treating what belongs to all of us as property they can sell.

On Monday, June 22 at 3 PM ET/ 12 PM PT, our coalition is convening frontline leaders from across the country to name the pattern, connect the fights, and build something that can't be outspent: solidarity.

It's a free virtual event. Join us! Register now: https://greenlatinos-org.zoom.us/meeting/register/ZN2rZRjVRSmDVnbEnzxXgg #/registration

Whether we’ve been in America for generations or moved here recently, the Rio Grande and our deserts are some of the best parts of our homeland.

That’s why this week, our Freshwater co-lead Martin Castro, our ED Shantha Ready Alonso, and frontline leaders from the Texas border traveled to our nation’s capital to sound the alarm: the Department of Homeland Security has waived 28 environmental and cultural protection laws to fast-track the construction of a smart wall across more than 150 miles of West Texas, cutting directly through Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park.

What’s at stake is bigger than a wall. Ecologically, this extractive agenda severs vital wildlife corridors, cutting off desert animals from the Rio Grande and blocking cross-border wildlife movement, while also creating severe flood risks in the region’s canyons. Culturally, the construction bulldozes through thousands of years of Native American cultural sites without standard protections.

Our shared waters and stories sustain us.
Keep our river free. No buoys, no border wall.

Every child deserves a place to learn that’s alive with trees, shade, soil, and room to breathe! 🌳

Today in Prince George’s County, Maryland, kids got their first look at their new outdoor classroom. And across the country, many more are one step closer to the same chance.

introduced the Revitalizing America’s Schoolyards Act in the Senate, and just introduced the companion bill in the House. Together, they would create a federal grant program to transform paved-over schoolyards into green, living spaces; with priority funding for schools where the most students rely on free and reduced meal programs.

This is what equitable stewardship of our common home looks like: healthier kids, cooler neighborhoods, and outdoor classrooms where every child can thrive.

Our children’s schoolyards are worth investing in. Thank you Senator Heinrich and Rep. Lee! We look forward to more support for this!🍀📚
