We are excited to celebrate this major win!! For our coalition, especially our Urban Parks and Green Space Workgroup, Outdoors for All means every person, no matter their zip code, race, or income, has safe, clean, and welcoming green space right where they live, play, and heal.

Thank you Governor Gavin Newsom for signing (the Outdoors for All Act) into law and making the Outdoors for All initiative a permanent commitment in the State of California.

Long before any of us were born, roadless forests were catching rain, keeping our drinking water safe, and sheltering our wildlife. For 25 years, the Roadless Rule has been how we return that care. It has kept bulldozers out so no company can carve roads or clear-cut these forests, and most of all, so the forests can keep caring for all of us: rural towns and big cities, Tribal nations, Latino and Black communities, hunters, anglers, and families who just need somewhere to breathe.

Now the Trump administration wants to tear up that rule and hand 45 million acres of our national forests to logging and mining companies. We have until October 6 to tell them to leave the rule standing. Add your name to our community letter today. Anyone can sign, and it takes about a minute.

Over two years ago, our Legacy Lands Workgroup came together around a question: what does it look like to center Black, Indigenous, and communities of color in working land conservation?

Yesterday at the Doris Duke Foundation Treehouse, we answered it. We launched our Action Plan, co-created by the leaders closest to this work and most impacted by the decisions being made about it.

A huge thank you to our panelists for bringing this vision to the room, and to all of you who showed up! We are grateful to be doing the collaborative work of making America beautiful for all.

The Farm Bill decides who eats and who doesn’t. It decides whose water is clean and whose family keeps its land.

In the newly published op-ed “The Farm Bill Is a Health Bill,” Kenya Crumel, co-lead of America the Beautiful for All’s Legacy Lands Workgroup and director of the Black Land and Power Workgroup at the National Black Food & Justice Alliance, and Lorette Picciano, executive director of the Rural Coalition, argue that food security, clean water, and land retention are not separate issues. They land on the same families, in the same communities, generation after generation.

The Senate marks up the Farm Bill in the coming days. We are watching.

We are watching for whether:
⚠️Congress reverses the SNAP cuts that have already pushed 4.5 million people off food assistance.
⚠️Conservation programs get the funding and the staff to actually reach farmers.
⚠️Heirs’ property protections keep family land in family hands.
⚠️Tribal nations are consulted before decisions about their lands are made, not after.
