Red Oak Animal Rescue- ROAR

My goodness! This is such a HUGE gift!
I cannot tell you how full my heart is with all the support we’ve received this year from all our friends and supporters.
With the generosity of all who gave towards our cow barn and those who came to our Fall Festival to celebrate our 10 year anniversary as a nonprofit - we are humbled.

This gift of a new (used) John Deere Gator is beyond words! We can’t function without one of these, sadly both of ours are old and not running.

There are angels walking among us - Lynn is the angel who donated this vital piece of equipment to us.
She has been a generous and kind friend and supporter for many years. She sponsors 2 residents here and advocates for animals in every aspect of her life.
We honor her and her late mother as we gratefully accept this gift. 🩷

Here’s to another 10 years of saving lives!

Wow!

What a beautiful day we had for our Fall Farm Festival!

I (Wendy) just wanted to hop on and thank each and every single person who helped make our event a success!
From the vendors to the guests to our team of volunteers!
All those who helped to promote it and all those who gifted raffle/silent auction prizes.

It takes a HUGE amount of time and effort to pull this together.
We are always amazed by the turnout and the outpouring of support and kindness towards our mission.

Myself and all our residents are incredibly grateful for YOU and the fact that we’ve been able to provide a safe and compassionate home to hundreds of animals for 10 years!! (officially)

Onwards to the next 10!

Hello, Cincinnati! I’m Marianne from the former “Bob & Marianne in the Morning” show on WARM 98. I’m in town to honor Wendy Lake, my friend &  guardian angel of over 200 residents at Red Oak Animal Rescue a.k.a. ROAR. I’m hosting ROAR’s fundraiser and I’ve got over 200 moos, oinks, whinnies and cock-a-doodle-doo-do’s worth of reasons for you to “SHOW me the MONEY” to help this heavenly sanctuary really ROAR!

Oh boy!

The Universe just keeps throwing us obstacles.

This weekend is our Fall Festival, celebrating 10 years of ROAR.

In the last few days we’ve had one person (Hannah) step on a nail - all the way into her foot.
One teenage worker quit. One large pig broke out of her pen (Looking at you Brentley!)
One person (Lisa) off with a back injury 😭
And I (Wendy) was stung by an evil flying dagger yesterday while putting up fence boards!

I’m highly allergic to bee/wasp stings but will avoid the EpiPen and emergency room visits if I can. I don’t have time for all that!
So I’m plowing through - no choice, I’m too busy!
Today my hand and wrist are swollen like a hot balloon!

Oh and today it’s raining while we try to clean this place up for our guests. Ugh

So if you are coming on Sunday, please give us some grace that it might not be as perfect as I’d like.
We have been under construction for 3 months.
We’re doing our best to get everything done.

We are super excited about all the vendors and the entertainment we’ve got lined up.

And I’m so looking forward to seeing familiar faces along with welcoming new guests to our special corner of the world.

If you can’t make it in person or live far away, please consider buying some Super Raffle tickets or drop a donation to help us continue our mission.

We can’t do this without you and you are always keeping us going - thank you 🥰

See you soon!
