A look back at our Fall Learning Summit! 🍎✨

Learning Summits bring our corps members together as one cohort for professional development grounded in what we’re actually seeing in classrooms.

This past Saturday, our corps members learned alongside veteran educators and gained practical training and resources in Turning Academic Skills into Habits and Supporting Diverse Learners. Our Instructional Coaches also engaged in dedicated sessions to support their continued learning and growth!

A huge thank-you to Ochsner Education Outreach for partnering with TFA Greater New Orleans, and to our facilitators, TFA GNO alum & board member Carly Czerniak ‘14 and Jane Taylor, for sharing their expertise and helping make this learning possible!

We’re grateful for partnerships that support our educators and instructional leaders as they continue growing for their students. 🩵

Greater New Orleans Takes on Vegas! ⚜️

09/24/2026

As we get closer to the 35th Anniversary Summit, we’re wrapping up our alum spotlights with Lisa Staples, SLA ’12, now part of the Greater New Orleans alumni community!

For Lisa, the TFA journey has come full circle. The 25th Anniversary Summit “literally changed my life,” inspiring her to leave the classroom and pursue a career in public health. Now, 10 years later, she works as a public health advocate within the education system and is proud to be part of an organization that “truly supports people for a lifetime.”

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re especially excited to celebrate the people and experiences that inspire Lisa. She can’t wait to meet fellow Hispanic artist and changemaker Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose work through film, music, and art she finds truly inspirational! 🎶✨

Next stop: Las Vegas! We’ll see you at the Summit next week! 🎉

Avione Brown Pichon, a Greater Philadelphia ‘03 alum now based in Greater New Orleans, continues her commitment to service as a law professor and partner at The Management Center . She’s heading to the 35th Anniversary Summit to be surrounded by like-minded people, tap into a deep network, and get grounded in her WHY!

For Avione, being a TFA alum means “you’ve seen behind the curtain of American education and you cannot unsee it.”

We’re excited to celebrate the legacy of TFA, reconnect with CMs and alumni from across the nation!

Will we see you at the Summit?
