Missionary Tim and Family

Missionary Tim and Family Timothy and Sharie Martiny, missionaries with six children in Guatemala serving the orphaned, vulnerable and those with special needs.

The story of how we came to be missionaries in Guatemala is unique, to say the least. In 2002 we came on a short term trip, we had two daughters at the time, aged 3 years and 5 months. We had planned to stay for 3 months, but after spending some time here we felt called to fulltime service so we decided to stay. We had little money, spoke almost no Spanish and had no support, but we stuck it out a

nd 11 years and four more kids later, we are still here. For the first several years we worked with youth groups doing street evangelism, assisting with outreaches, doing food distribution and distributing humanitarian aid. In 2005 we started working with a small orphanage in zone-7 of Guatemala City, teaching English and Bible classes, and that was the beginning of our Skills for Life programs which have grown to several orphanages and schools and which provide computer, English, carpentry and cooking classes to hundreds of children. As Christians, it is our faith in God which drives us to do dedicate our time and energy to teach train and equip these children to live a better life. As such teaching them to have faith in God, to find their morality from the Bible, and seek to live a holy life. To this end we teach Bible studies to our students and teach them to memorize scripture. Raising 6 children in a less developed country has been quite a challenge. God has definitely used it grow our faith as we have had to depend on Him to supply our needs.

🚀 From Interest to Impact — Help Launch Guatemala’s Next STEM Leaders

What started as a simple vision has grown into something powerful.

Over the past two years, students in Cadaniño’s afterschool programs have gone from having little access to technology… to building, creating, and leading.

Today:
🔹 250 students have been trained
🔹 957 STEM classes taught
🔹 5,800+ hands-on projects completed
🔹 Students are now leading their own STEM clubs

And now… new doors are opening.

🤖 16 students are preparing to compete in the Balam Robotics Competition at Universidad Galileo, stepping into a university environment for the very first time.

At the same time, we are launching something even bigger…

🎉 Feria de Ciencia y Tecnología Guatemala 2026

In partnership with the Municipality of San José Pinula, this event will bring together students from across Guatemala to showcase projects in:

⚙️ Robotics
💻 Programming
🔌 Electronics
🧠 Engineering
🖨️ 3D Printing

This is more than a fair…
It’s where students go from learning… to leading.

💡 But we need your help.

We’re raising $7,000 to make this possible—supporting:
✔️ Robotics kits and competition costs
✔️ STEM equipment and materials
✔️ Fair setup, prizes, and logistics

This isn’t just funding an event.
It’s investing in a movement that will impact hundreds of students for years to come.

👉 Be part of what God is doing through these students.
👉 Help turn potential into opportunity.

Together, we’re not just teaching technology…
We’re building future leaders.
