We've Got a Story to Tell takes you through the arches, past the murals, and into the story of Captain André Cailloux, 45 minutes of immersive theater on the sacred ground of Bayou Road. Free parking included.

Performances run through July 31 at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Spots are limited.

THE CONDUCTOR leads our audiences through the first 15 minutes, through the arches, past the murals, into memory. Open to all genders. This artist is guide, griot, community holder.

CAPTAIN CAILLOUX carries the next 30. A full one-man show. A man's entire life in a single performance.

We are looking for Black artists and artists of the Global Majority who know how to command a room and carry a story.

He is our namesake for a reason. We don't just honor his legacy; we're building from it into the future.

Captain André Cailloux was born into slavery and manumitted at 21. He became one of the first Black officers in the Union Army, and at the Battle of Port Hudson, he courageously organized and led his men forward.

We've got a story to tell, which is all about this great ancestor.
