Coastal restoration and protection is an existential issue for our state. Since the 1930s, Louisiana has lost nearly 2,000 square miles of land, with hurricanes accelerating erosion and wetland loss.

Wetlands and barrier islands help reduce storm surge, absorb floodwaters, and protect communities. Continued land loss increases flood risk and threatens critical infrastructure.

At Ellevate, we support science-based coastal restoration and protection aligned with the Coastal Master Plan, along with transparency, accountability, and qualified technical oversight of flood protection systems.
