Inspired to help students strive for excellence early on, Dr. Asya Johnson founded HBCU Early College Prep (HBCU Early College Prep) in Jamaica, Queens, NY, a tuition-free accelerated high school where students graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree.

The reason? To witness the first graduating class of the school he co-founded.
