🕰️ Shared histories of struggle, resilience, and resistance!

Sofia SANTIAGO (ACC 2020) (Sofia Santiago-Jimenez) and Ana TAMULA (ACC 2020) (Ana Tamula) work in museum studies and work to create a more open and inclusive spaces where artists, curators, researchers, and communities can continue to persist, resist, and imagine more just futures together.

Sofia and Ana got a duo Individual Fellowship to research into the practices of memorializing sensitive histories through museum programming, using Cambodia as a case study.

After their grant cycle, Sofia and Ana wrote a chapter in a compilation book featuring diverse sites where memories of dictatorship are constructed and contested.

ACC is thrilled to celebrate our alum LIU Wei (ACC 2011) on his new presentation, The Genesis Facade Commission: Speculation, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art that opened on September 17.

The four-sculpture project, curated by Lesley Ma, is now adorning the streets of NYC. On Sept 24, ACC community gathered outside The Met to hear Lesley Ma and Liu Wei’s discussion on what the inspirations were for this project and how it came about.

“Speculation” highlights how ACC fellowships foster lifelong global relationships and creative collaborations across borders.

Proud is an understatement; it is wonderful to see our community driving meaningful cross-cultural dialogues.

As an ACC alum, Kusama’s transformative vision broke boundaries and reshaped art across the globe. Today, we celebrate her endless creativity that continues to inspire artists and dreamers everywhere.
