Do you love being outdoors and want to spend the summer learning, growing and working in nature? The Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps Summer Program might be for you.

The Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps provides youth and young adults with paid opportunities to gain competitive job readiness skills to prepare them for careers in environmental conservation through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Pennsylvania’s state park system is one of the largest in the country, consisting of 124 parks and forests across more than 300,000 acres. Program participants complete conservation projects related to preserving and protecting natural resources and infrastructure at various sites across the state.

Many thanks to all who participated in the Exploring Skilled Trades career program yesterday - to the individual presenters and their companies Ellwood, IBEW Local 712, IUPAT District Council 57, New Castle School of Trades, and Stevens Masonry; to the school counselors, teachers, administrators, and students Ellwood City Area School District, Laurel, Mohawk Area School District, Neshannock Township School District, New Castle Area School District, Shenango Area School District, Union, and Wilmington. Thank you to the New Castle School of Trades for the use of the facility, and Nick Vercilla from the New Castle News for the great article!
