We aim to educate the public and coordinate with rescues to get them loving homes. Please note we are not a rescue and cannot take intakes.

Happy Labor Day from Oakley’s Cause!

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the hardworking people in our community who give their time, energy, and dedication to making a difference.

From our supporters to the people working behind the scenes to help animals in need, every effort matters. Oakley’s Cause would not be able to continue raising awareness for animals with Cerebellar Hypoplasia without the incredible people who stand behind our mission.

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Labor Day, and that you get to spend some well-deserved time with the people and pets you love.

EVENT REMINDER: New Castle Broad Street Cruise-In

We’re just a couple of days away from the September Broad Street Cruise-In!

Join us this Saturday, September 5, from 5–9 PM at 1400 Plaza in New Castle for an evening filled with great vehicles, local vendors, and community fun.

This weekends event is an Open Cruise-In, so come out, check out the featured vehicles, browse the vendors, and stop by to visit Oakley’s Cause while you’re there!

Whether you’re bringing a vehicle, supporting local vendors, or simply looking for something fun to do Saturday evening, we’d love to see you.

Meet the heart and soul of Oakley’s Cause, Oakley herself.

This little baby girl is the reason Oakley’s Cause was founded. We only had the privilege of having Oakley in our lives for about a year and a half before we sadly lost her to FeLV. While our time with her was far too short, the impact she left behind continues to grow.

After losing Oakley, our president, Bailey Stevens, decided to turn that heartbreak into something meaningful: raising awareness about Cerebellar Hypoplasia and showing the world just how wonderful these sweet, wobbly babies can be.

Oakley was the sweetest girl you could ever ask for. She loved to cuddle, loved being around Mom and Dad, and absolutely had to know where we were at all times. If she wasn't right beside us, you could be sure she was letting us know about it!

Oakley may no longer be here with us, but her legacy lives on through every CH animal we advocate for, every person we educate, and every life we are able to help.

Now you know a little more about the heart and soul behind Oakley’s Cause. Everything we do started with one very special little girl and we will continue carrying her legacy forward.

On September 19th, Oakley’s Cause will be helping host the Light Up Jeep Show in Downtown Eaton, Indiana. While this is a great event for the community, it is also an important opportunity for us to continue growing our mission.

For every Jeep registered, $10 comes directly to Oakley’s Cause Inc. That support helps us continue our efforts to raise awareness for animals with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) and show people that being different does not mean an animal is any less deserving of love, care, or a happy life.

Our mission goes beyond simply helping individual animals. We want to help people understand CH, challenge the misconceptions surrounding it, and bring more attention to the incredible animals living with this condition. The more awareness we create, the more opportunities these animals have to find understanding, acceptance, and the homes they deserve.

That is why your support at events like this matters.

When you register a Jeep, attend the show, share our mission, or encourage someone else to come out, you're helping us keep the conversation about CH going. You're helping us reach more people and continue building a community that recognizes the value of every animal, regardless of their abilities.

Meet Ocarina!

Ocarina is the last of our CH cats we’re introducing, and she is certainly our wobbliest little girl. She may have a harder time getting around than some of our other CH babies, but that has never stopped her from being herself.

Ocarina is a shy, vocal, and somewhat antisocial girl who takes her time opening up. She likes to do things on her own terms and may not always be the first one to ask for attention. But when she decides she wants some love and cuddles, that’s when you get to see her sweetest side.

Once Ocarina lets you in, she becomes the purrfect little baby—and those moments make every bit of patience worth it.

And with that, you’ve officially met all four of our CH cats! Now we want to know. which of our four CH babies would you like to see more of? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to know who you want to see more pictures, videos, and updates from.

Each of our CH cats has their own unique personality, quirks, and way of showing love. We’re excited to keep sharing their stories and helping raise awareness for animals living with CH.

Meet Harlem!

Harlem is our shy little baby who likes to decide for herself when she wants to give or receive love and affection. While her wobble is not the most severe among our CH kitties, you can see the little tremors in each step she takes.

Even with her wobbles and shakes, Harlem doesn’t let them slow her down or change her sweet personality. She is a loving little fur baby who reminds us that CH may affect how an animal moves, but it does not take away their ability to enjoy life, play, explore, and give plenty of love on their own terms.

Harlem is just one of the many special animals who help us spread awareness about Cerebellar Hypoplasia and show the world that being different does not mean being less.
