We aim to educate the public and coordinate with rescues to get them loving homes. Please note we are not a rescue and cannot take intakes.

This past week is a reminder of what Oakley’s Cause is all about.

We recently helped connect a stray cat in need with our friends at Biscuit Factory Animal Rescue, bringing the right cat to the right people and helping give them a chance at a safe, loving future. This is the heart of our mission: making connections that make a difference, one animal at a time.

Your support helps make these connections possible. Every donation helps us stay prepared for the work ahead, whether that means restocking event supplies, filling a candy bucket, covering outreach materials, or being ready when the next call for help comes in.

Every contribution gives Oakley’s Cause a little more room to say, “Yes, we can help.”

What does Oakley’s Cause do when the event tents come down?

We keep working.

The events may be the part you see, but there is so much more happening behind the scenes. We connect people with resources, help animals find safer next steps, build relationships within our community, plan future events and turn every donation, message and introduction into something useful.

Not every part of our work happens in front of a crowd. A lot of it happens quietly, through conversations, planning and follow-through.

Every piece matters. Every connection matters. And every bit of support helps us keep moving forward.

Our hearts and the candy buckets are FULL. 🧡

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shopped local, brought the Halloween energy, and spent part of Saturday with Oakley’s Cause!

We loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting so many new ones at The Haunted Market and the Broad Street Cruise-In Trunk N Treat.

From our booth to the decorated vehicles, the costumes, the candy, and all the conversations in between, it was such a fun day being out in the community and sharing what Oakley’s Cause is all about.

Thank you for supporting our mission, supporting local events, and helping us continue to raise awareness for animals with Cerebellar Hypoplasia.

October is starting with a full day of fall fun!

Your Saturday plans are handled. Start your day at the Haunted Market from 10 AM–3 PM at the Randolph County 4-H Fairgrounds, then head to downtown New Castle for the Broad Street Cruise-In Trunk N Treat from 5–9 PM.

Come shop local, check out the cars, enjoy the Halloween fun, grab some candy, and most importantly, come say hi to Oakley’s Cause!

We’ll be out in the community all day, and we’d love to see you at both stops.

A little update from Oakley's Cause 💛

We've added a new Placement Request page to our website to make it easier to ask for help and easier for us to give it.

A quick refresher on what we do: we're a small, volunteer-run organization (not a rescue, so we don't take intakes). We partner with rescues and the public to advocate for animals with cerebellar hypoplasia and other neurological conditions, essentially if it affects balance and gait, that's our world. For animals in our scope, we'll always do our best to help find them placement with one of our rescue partners.

There are some cases that fall outside what we're able to help with, like injuries, general illness, or neonatal kittens who still need their mom.

If you need placement help, please fill out the form here: https://oakleyscause.org/placement-request . Going forward, all placement requests need to come through the form so nothing gets missed and everyone gets a fair look. We won't be able to take requests by phone or messenger anymore — we appreciate your understanding! 💛

October is bringing plenty of opportunities to get out, have some fun, and support Oakley’s Cause!

We have a busy month ahead, and we’re excited to be part of these upcoming events!

October 3 | 10 AM–4 PM – Haunted Market
Join us for a Halloween-themed market filled with seasonal fun and local vendors!

October 3 | 5–9 PM – New Castle Broad Street Cruise-In: Trunk N Treat
Come enjoy the cruise-in, classic cars, and seasonal festivities while supporting the local community.

October 24 | 11 AM–4 PM – Jeep Event | New Castle, IN
Join us for food trucks, vendors, a DJ, a swap meet, a Halloween decorating contest, and even more Jeep fun!

Every event is another opportunity to connect with our community and help Oakley’s Cause continue its mission of raising awareness for animals with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH).

We hope to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones along the way! Thank you for continuing to support our mission.

Today, we’re taking a moment to celebrate someone who is truly loved and appreciated by all of us. Melissa has a special place in our hearts, and we’re so grateful for all the love, kindness, laughter, and memories she brings into our lives.
