Message from the Adjutant General VFW in response to John Thomas Bond Jr., Post 4642 Commander, Linden MI.

Commanders and Comrades,

This past week has been especially difficult for our comrades in the Department of Michigan and for the members of Linden VFW Post 4642 following the tragic shooting at a church in Grand Blanc.

Post Commander John Bond, VFW Post 4642, was present at the church along with another member when the incident occurred. Both confronted the gunman, who we now know was a fellow veteran. Sadly, John did not survive. The other comrade was unharmed and assisted authorities in responding to the situation.

I had the privilege of meeting John briefly at a District meeting a few months ago. Like all Post Commanders, he was deeply dedicated to his Post and his family, working tirelessly and with great pride to serve his comrades and community.
