🏀 HOOPS SEASON IS ALMOST HERE 🏀

Big smiles, new friendships, and plenty of basketball fun are headed our way! 🙌

Youth Basketball at the Twin Rivers YMCA is about more than making baskets. It's where kids build confidence, learn teamwork, practice good sportsmanship, and discover what they can accomplish together.

Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or already loves the game, there's a place for them on the court! 🧡

🏀 Season: November 30, 2026 – January 30, 2027

🏀 Ages: 3–5 years through 5th grade

🏀 Cost: $60 Members | $110 Nonmembers

📣 Registration closes November 15!

You know the scene. Someone needs help. The lifeguard spots it. Dramatic music kicks in. Hero moment activated.

Real lifeguarding may be a little less Baywatch, but the skills are very real.
Our upcoming Lifeguard Certification Courses will help you build the training, confidence and skills to respond when someone needs you most.

💲 Y Members: $200 | Non-Members: $300

And no, taking the course doesn’t mean you have to work for the Y. Certification can open the door to opportunities at pools and aquatic facilities throughout our community.

But since you asked... We’re always looking for a few more heroes to join our Y lifeguarding team. If protecting others, being part of a great team and making a difference sounds like your kind of work, we’d love to talk.

🍂 It’s Dome time at the Y! 🍂

Mem-Bear was getting ready for a nice long hibernation, but duty calls. 🐻 The outdoor pool Dome starts going up this weekend!

💦 Here’s what to know:

Our outdoor pool will close at the end of the day Friday, Oct. 2, and remain closed through Sunday, Oct. 11, while our team and crews put up the Dome and get the pool ready.

🏊 Indoor pool programs will continue on their regular schedule next week.

🍂 All outdoor pool programs will be canceled during the closure.

We plan to welcome everyone back to the outdoor pool, under the Dome, on Monday, Oct. 12!

There’s a lot that goes into getting this big ol’ Dome back up each year, so we appreciate your patience with our aquatics team and the crews working throughout the week.

And don’t worry. Mem-Bear will be keeping a close eye on things. 👀🐻

Join us Wednesday for a Bring Your Own Lunch & Learn with Eastern Carolina YMCA CEO Kelly Millington.

Kelly will share a look at the past, present and future of the YMCA movement, from its global roots to the role our Y plays today in bringing people together and strengthening our community here at home.

Bring your lunch, pull up a chair and spend an hour getting to know the Y from a different perspective.
