Floyd County Animal Rescue League We are a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to helping the animals of Floyd County, Indiana.

We work to reduce the number of homeless animals in our community through spaying & neutering programs which includes a Trap, Neuter, Return program for community cats. Medical vouchers are available to low income Floyd County, IN residents to help get their companion animal to the vet for an urgent medical issue. FCARL also provides adoption and medical support for the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter.

Do you have space in your home for a new cat friend?

We have a few cats who have been at the shelter for a while now and we are hoping to find the special someone who would adopt them! These cats are sweet and friendly, but are out of the kitten phase, so often they get overlooked!

If you have space for a well natured adult cat and don't mind missing the fuss of kittens, come meet them today!!

From left to right:

Zora!
Zora is a shy lady with a heart of gold. She loves to sit and watch the world go by and occasionally be doted on. She's extremely gentle and sweet, just a little slower to open up.

Corn on the Cob!
This cat is the most talkative guy you will ever meet. He loves to be included and will never miss an opportunity to share his opinion. Corn is FIV+ which mean is will be more susceptible to sickness, but with routine vet care he can live a very normal cat life.

Marge Simpson!
Marge is sweet and affectionate and LOVES food. This girl will sit and eat all day. She would be a great movie partner to curl up on the couch with.

Foo Foo!
An incredibly sweet girl who wants nothing more than attention and some gentle pets. She doesn't like to be picked up, but it more than happy to flop over and show you her belly!

***ADOPTED!!!***

🍫🐾 Meet Chocolate Chip! 🐾🍫

If you're looking for a cat who's as sweet as her name, Chocolate Chip might be your girl!

Chocolate Chip is a 1-year-old female with a truly unusual charcoal-brown coat. You don't see coloring like hers every day, and she's even more special once you get to know her!

She's a sweet, social, and talkative girl who wants to join in on whatever you're doing and will happily tell you all about it. She has a sensitive tummy, so she needs to stay away from chicken. She is currently eating a duck-based dry food available at Feeders Pet Supply, so an easy switch! FCARL will even send her home with a supply of food, so no worries there!

Chocolate Chip is available for adoption through the New Albany Animal Shelter. Come meet this one-of-a-kind girl and see her awesome personality and unique coloring for yourself! Her picture barely captures her amazingly unique coat!

Her adoption fee is $20, and she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV & FeLV negative.

PEANUT BUTTER DOG BISCUITS

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup peanut butter (make sure that it doesn’t contain Xylitol)
3/4 cup milk

Method

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Combine flours, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
In a separate bowl, stir together peanut butter and milk until well combined and smooth.
Fold the peanut butter/milk mixture into dry ingredients and mix well to a soft dough.
You can just turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly.
Roll dough out to 3/8 – 1/4 ” thick; cut into pieces 1-2”
(we need small, medium, and large biscuits so any size/shape is fine)
Place 1/2” apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Store cooled biscuits in the freezer.

You can use any cookie cutter shape to make the biscuits; it doesn’t have to be in the typical dog/bone shape, although that is perfectly fine. We need small, medium, and large biscuits, so feel free to make one size or a variety of sizes.
