The world lost a legend today, and it's hard to put into words what Dolly Parton meant to so many of us.

Dolly started the Imagination Library because of a promise to her dad, and that idea grew into millions of free books mailed to kids all over the world. Here in Floyd County, we've been part of that story since 2009, and we've loved every bit of it.

Her family is holding a small, private service at her request. If you want to send love, you can tag on social media or leave a message at www.dollyparton.com.

Our first round of Great Classroom Grants for the 2026-27 school year is here! Thanks to our donors, 74 NAFC educators received a combined $54,036 to bring their classroom ideas to life. And with the increased limit of $750 per educator, the impact in our classrooms is growing.

Some of the grants included:
- Slate Run Elementary: new books for an independent reading club
- Scribner Middle School: supplies for the new Honors Robotics class
- Floyd Central High School: care supplies for classroom aquariums and terrariums - Prosser Career Education Center: professional baking equipment for Culinary students

This is just the beginning of what your generosity will fund this school year. Thank you to every donor who makes Great Classroom Grants possible!

Welcome to the NAFCS family, new teachers! 🍎

We're a few days late in sharing this, but we couldn't let it pass without a shoutout. We got to welcome our 40 new teachers last week, and thanks to our generous supporters, each of them will receive a $100 Amazon gift card to help get their classrooms ready.

Great Classroom Grants help bring educator ideas to life.
Across NAFC schools, these grants have supported books, science tools, music supplies, sensory supports, career-focused materials, outdoor learning, classroom resources, and so much more. Each project looks different, but the impact is the same: students gain access to learning experiences that are meaningful, hands-on, creative, and connected to what they need.

NAFC educators, the 2026-27 Great Classroom Grant application is now open. The first round of applications must be submitted by August 3, 2026. After that, applications will be reviewed on a rolling monthly basis.
