Relay 2024 is in the books!

The weather was great. Floyd had about 30 survivors sign in. We had almost 250 luminaries. And we made our goal,of $40,000! Our in honorees, Beth Rodewig and Becky Allee were able to attend. Actually Becky came early and helped with the auction!

Thanks to those who came and helped:
Betty Kiesler and her husband, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and friend Nancy who set up and worked the Silent Auction and her pastor who gave the closing prayer.
Mary Kost and with ACS CAN who is now in DC fighting for funding for more research!
Carla Becht and husband who brought ice, water, and give aways for Survivors as well as working registration and raised a lot of $$
Jan Weimer who had a tennis match that morning and came to Relay and stayed until closing do various jobs including reading our traditional poem, Every Candle Has a Name
Steven Curry and son who led dances and helped with the Blowups-Purple Chair etc.
Friends of mine ; Linda LaDuke, Phyllis Wright and Steve Bare who helped sell and put up or take down luminaries
Roger and Janey Whaley who read names at luminary
Ed Clere who spoke and handed out medals and pledged to help us next year!
and lastly but not least, my husband and 2 grandsons, 10 and 12, who worked their butts off putting up and taking down luminaries!

I know we had teams from Inch by Inch and Kyana Packaging come.
Sorry if I missed anyone.

A huge thank you to the Clark Relay committee for welcoming us! Clark really came thru with lots of Silent Auction items. Orange Clover provide plenty of food for survivors and caregivers.
With Clark's current fundraising amount of over $56,000 and rising that makes over $100,00 for ACS programs and research!

If you were unable to attend this year, I hope you'll be able to join in the fun in 2025!

💜Relay For Life 2024 is in the books!💜 So many wonderful people contributed their time, talents and energy to make the event a success!
So, THANK YOU, to anyone who raised money, anyone who volunteered (and there are A LOT of you) you know who you are, to our Team Captains - wow - you did it! You recruited, you organized FUNdraisers, you sold Luminary bags, you showed up, you hung out with us! The Silent Auction was a great joint success as well. Thank you to those who prayed for us and our event, prayed for an end to cancer, for our Survivors. To those who shared their very personal stories. To the Caregivers who have given us so much and were there yesterday to celebrate with us. A HUGE thank you to Clark Co for welcoming us to JHS! For everyone who saw something that needed doing yesterday and stepped up and did it … you often work behind the scenes .. but, we see you, thank you. Thank you to for the poem readers and name readers - for remembering to bring flashlights. For everyone who took time out of their Saturday to show up - thank you! To those who stayed late and helped pack up and clean up, A BIG THANK YOU!!
Finally, great job, Mother Nature, the weather was great, okay, maybe a little “warm”, we’ll take that since you kept the rain away! Whew!! 😅
Thanks, everyone! We’ll see you next year, so rest up!
