Who we are...

The Legacy Foundation of Floyd County was established in November 2018, in Floyd County, Indiana, in partnership with public officials from the Floyd County Commissioners and Floyd County Council. The Legacy Foundation was created to provide endowed funds as a resource to help meet community needs today and provide for those changing needs for the future generations by encouraging philanthropic leadership and flexible charitable opportunities.

The income to the Foundation is utilized for both direct grant making by the Foundation and to build a Foundation endowment. The Foundation will use the investment generated income to ensure an additional grant making capacity well into the future for the benefit of Floyd County residents.

The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees comprised of five members, one from the county commissioners, one from the county council, the county Treasurer and two professional (non-elected) persons representing Floyd County, Indiana. The Foundation's grant program is administered by the board of trustees.
