We're still smiling about last week's sold-out Carrying It Forward celebration! ๐Ÿ˜

The evening brought together more than 300 community leaders, donors, nonprofit partners, fundholders, and residents to celebrate three-and-a-half decades of local philanthropy and community impact throughout Clark and Floyd counties.

As we look through these photographs from the event, we're reminded that the Foundation's success has always been built on partnerships, generosity, and a shared commitment to strengthening Southern Indiana. We are grateful to everyone who joined us, as well as our sponsors, vendors, and venue partners who helped make the evening possible.

We'd like to send a special thank you to photographer Ralph Homan for capturing these moments. We've shared a collection of some of our favorite photos from the evening โ€“ we encourage you to tag yourself and your friends!

Thank you, Southern Indiana, for helping us carry this work forward. The impact of the last 35 years belongs to all of us, and we're excited for what comes next.

What a night.

On Thursday evening, more than 300 donors, nonprofit leaders, community partners, and residents gathered to celebrate 35 years of local philanthropy at the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana's sold-out Carrying It Forward event.

Together, we reflected on the people, projects, and partnerships that have helped shape Clark and Floyd counties over the past three-and-a-half decades โ€“ from scholarships and affordable housing to food security, parks, public spaces, and countless nonprofit initiatives that strengthen our community every day.

A special thank you to our keynote guest, Tori Murden McClure, whose story of perseverance, resilience, and the power of community was both inspiring and unforgettable.

We're also grateful to our sponsors, vendors, and the incredible team at The Vista at Origin Park for helping create such a memorable evening.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who attended. The event sold out, and once again, this community showed us what generosity, connection, and belief in Southern Indiana can accomplish.

These are just a few photos from the evening. More are coming soon.

A quick reminder for everyone attending Carrying It Forward tomorrow evening: First, thank you.

We are incredibly grateful to share that this year's event is officially sold out. The response from our community has been overwhelming, and we continue to be amazed by the generosity, enthusiasm, and support Clark and Floyd counties have shown this Community Foundation since 1991.

Earlier this week, we emailed all registered attendees important event information, including directions, parking details, recommended attire, and food and beverage information. If you haven't seen that email, please check your junk or spam folder, as it was sent to the email address used during registration on Tuesday morning.

We can't wait to welcome you tomorrow as we celebrate 35 years of generosity, impact, and community โ€“ and look ahead to all that we can accomplish together in the years to come.

If you have any last-minute questions, please contact Wes Scott, Director of Communications and Marketing, and we'll be happy to help.

Thank you again for helping make this celebration so special. We'll see you Thursday!

Sometimes, the impact of our grantmaking is easy to see.

It might be a community event, a public performance, a new playground, or skate park, or even early-warning tornado sirens. These are the projects that proudly stand above ground and in plain sight.

But sometimes, the most important investments are the ones nobody notices.

Recently, Catalyst Rescue Mission began a project that most people will never see: the installation of a new 2-inch water line that doubles water service capacity to their facility.

While the pipe itself may be hidden underground, its impact is anything but. More reliable water service means more residents can access clean drinking water, prepare meals, shower, and do laundry โ€“ basic human needs that help restore dignity and stability.

At the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, we're proud to support projects that strengthen our community, whether they're highly visible or hidden beneath our feet. That's what community leadership is all about: investing in what matters, even when nobody is looking.

Congratulations to Catalyst Rescue Mission on the completion of this important project!

More opportunities. More futures. More impact.

The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana is proud to announce that we awarded a record 198 scholarships during the 2025-26 academic year, providing $805,400 in support to local students pursuing higher education and career training opportunities.

Behind every scholarship is a student working toward a goal:a future teacher, nurse, engineer, entrepreneur, skilled tradesperson, or community leader. These awards help make those aspirations more attainable while easing some of the financial burden that often comes with continuing one's education.

Since 1991, CFSI has awarded approximately $11.2 million in scholarships to students throughout Clark and Floyd counties.

Thank you to the generous donors, families, businesses, and community partners who make these opportunities possible. Your investment in education continues to create lasting impact across Southern Indiana.

Congratulations to all of this year's scholarship recipients! ๐ŸŽ‰

What's the best way to receive grant funding from the Community Foundation?

Well, the first step is to apply.

Each quarter, CFSI offers a pair of competitive grant programs: the Community Assist grant program and the Capacity Building grant program. This means no matter when your organization might need funding, our year-round applications are always available when the timing is right for you.

And while the focus of the grant programs may differ, their purposes are the same: supporting the mission and programming of nonprofit organizations serving Clark and Floyd County residents.

If you want to learn more about our various grant programs, important dates to know, and how this funding can support your favorite nonprofit organization, then visit our website and learn more: https://www.cfsouthernindiana.com/nonprofits/
