The Labor Council serves as a means of exchanging information with individuals and groups of mutual interest and promotes legislation that will benefit the interest of labor and society. Our Labor Council’s Organizing and Affiliation Committee has been very active in assisting large and small groups of workers to organize. We successfully promoted a Right To Organize resolution in four Fox Valley
cities. Our educational programs, such as the Union Counselors Program, the Steward Training Programs and the Labor Leaders Conference, have been very successful educating and training our union members. Our annual Labor Day Celebration continues to be an important event in the Fox Valley, bringing together thousands of union families throughout the area for our parade, picnic, music, food, and children’s entertainment. The contributions made by our Retirees’ Club cannot be overstated. This club has grown to over 200 members and is involved in Labor and political issues as well as retiree issues. We continue to maintain sponsorship of worthy community causes, including a very successful Christmas Giving program. Most importantly, we strive to maintain an effective communication link and assistance network between Fox Valley Area local unions.
